Great Ideas from The Hearth and Soul Hop

The Hearth and Soul Blog Hop
Welcome to The Hearth and Soul Hop, a blog hop for recipes using healthy ingredients, family and comfort food recipes, articles about healthy living, real, local and sustainable food, foraging, herbal remedies, organics and gardening. As much as possible, recipes should be homemade from scratch.

I’ve been doing lots of decluttering and spring cleaning these last few weeks and I’m loving how it’s making our home and garden look and feel. Need some inspiration to get started on your own spring cleaning? Check out my Easy Tips to Help You Declutter and Move On.

We also made an addition to our family art collection.

The Hearth and Soul Blog Hop
It’s an original acrylic by Carl Scanes depicting Giverney, the home of Claude Monet in France. I visited there with my husband and late parents back when I was expecting my son and the painting brings back wonderful memories of Normandy. We’ve hung it above our kitchen table and it makes me smile every time I look at it. Looking for tips on how to feature art in your own home? I’ve also been sharing my tips on How To Feel Great After 40.

There were some wonderful recipes, ideas and articles shared with last week’s hop. Today I’m featuring three of the posts that caught my eye.

  1. Hi April,
Your new painting is beautiful, what a treasure, it reminds me of a beautiful spring day. Hope you are having a great week and thanks so much for the party!
    Miz Helen

  2. The painting is so colorful and beautiful – enjoy it. Thanks for another party

  3. What a beautiful, cheery painting. Monet always makes me think of spring and fun! Thanks for the link up.
    Janine

  4. Hi, April. Monet is my absolute favorite painter. Scanes has done a great job conveying that Monet feel.

Thank you for the party. I’ve linked a fancy “pizza.” On a pizza kick lately.

  5. Ah yes, Spring cleaning I plan on tackling the attic tomorrow morning. Have to do it early before it gets too hot. So wonderful that you got a painting to hang in such a prominent place that reminds you of such a found memory. Congrats on your purchase.

  6. Hi April!

Hope you’re enjoying the amazing weather! I’m sharing my Pea and Rocket Soup this week.

    Thank you for hosting

  7. What a lovely painting, and a great memory! This week I’m sharing my GF Meal Plan and a recipe for sprouted chickpea and sweet potato patties :)

  8. Love you party!!! Thank you for hosting. I would love it if you stop by our new party. http://loulougirls.blogspot.com/
Have an amazing day! Lou Lou Girls

  9. What a gorgeous painting. I wouldn’t mind looking at that every day! Years ago, I took my young son to a Monet art exhibit and he slipped away from my hand and went up and touched the painting “water lilies” and I heard a woman gasp! I felt terrible. Managing a six-year old doesn’t always go the way we plan.

    • Thank you, Mireya. I really am enjoying it.

And don’t worry about your son touching the Monet – you definitely are not the first person that has happened to! I saw a similar thing happen in a gallery in London once. Monet’s paintings are so vivid it’s easy for a kid to be tempted :-)

  10. That is a beautiful painting!
This week I’m sharing Jammy Gummy Bites — in case you have leftover jam from last year. Or are looking for something new for kids school lunches. Or just need an excuse to make even MORE jam this summer! ;)
    Thanks for hosting this hop!
