Tasty Breads from The Hearth and Soul Hop

The Hearth and Soul Blog Hop
Welcome to The Hearth and Soul Hop, a blog hop for recipes using healthy ingredients, family and comfort food recipes, articles about healthy living, real, local and sustainable food, foraging, herbal remedies, organics and gardening. As much as possible, recipes should be homemade from scratch.

It’s been a busy few weeks. I was in London last week for a blogging event which I’m looking forward to sharing with you soon. There was an underground (subway) strike the day I visited and I was forced to walk pretty much everywhere. At first I was upset about it but after a little while my perspective changed. It was a nice day and as well as getting tons of exercise (as it turns out I covered about eight miles over the course of the day) I was able to see parts of London I normally miss when I use the underground. The war memorial on Hyde Park Corner took my breath away.

The meaning behind the sculpture and the fatigue and expressions on the faces were very moving. Further along, this row of simple crosses becomes part of the path…

and as you walk through them, you become part of the memorial to the fallen. It’s beautiful and very humbling.

Even after all the years that I’ve lived in or near to London, I’m always discovering new to me things there. And I’m very glad I was ‘encouraged’ to walk more instead of taking the underground!

This week I’m heading to Amsterdam. Although I’ve been to Holland before it was a very brief visit and I’ve never been to the capital city. I’m looking forward to sharing my adventures!

As always there were some wonderful recipes shared at last week’s hop. Today I’m featuring some very tasty bread recipes.

  5. London is like NYC in that way, you never know what you’ll discover. I got lost one time in London and ended up at a Knights Templar statue. I ended up learning a lot about this Crusades era group. Can’t wait to hear about Amsterdam… a good bike riding city, you may consider it.
