Breakfast, Lunch or Brunch? Let’s Do Brunch Again!

I’m feeling rather old today, as we travel up to Derbyshire for a reunion of my son’s Grade 6 class. He graduated from a small independent school there back in 2004, on his way to senior school. It was an idyllic little school, and there were only ten children in his class! Seven years later, he’s all grown up, we live 150 miles away, and he attends sixth form college in Henley on Thames, a village about 6 miles away from our home. After a final year completing a specialist diploma next year, he will most likely be heading to university (the education system in England is very, very different from in North America). However you slice it, he’s coming to the beginning of  going out on his own, living his own life and becoming even more independent than he already is. Frankly, I could use a mimosa and a nice brunch to help me get over the shock of something I have known has been on the cards for a long time…

We had some great recipes last week, and I’m really happy to share a couple of my favourites here.

Cinnamon Spice and Everything Nice shared a wonderful Cherry Clafoutis, as beautiful as any I have ever eaten in France. It’s the perfect dessert for this time of year!

And Marguerite at Cajun Delights shared a lovely post which included a delicious Chicken Salad Croissant. The photograph made my mouth water. What a lovely summer lunch.
