Finding Balance at The Hearth and Soul Link Party

Welcome to The Hearth and Soul Link Party where this week I’m featuring posts about finding balance.

Finding Balance at The Hearth and Soul Link Party where we welcome all family friendly posts & recipes too

Finding balance is important in our lives, and the posts I’ve chosen to feature this week all share ideas, projects and recipes that can help you find it.

At Hearth and Soul, I invite you to share posts about anything that feeds your soul – from family, home, decorating, crafts and DIY to travel, organisation and self improvement. And of course, food from the hearth to feed your soul is a real favourite here too!

Last week on the blog I shared a way to have your cake and eat it with my latest recipe in collaboration with Indigo Herbs.

Banana and Chia Loaf Cake with Dates and Walnuts, a delicious cake full of wholesome ingredients from Indigo Herbs #ad

My Banana and Chia Loaf Cake with Dates and Walnuts is moist, delicious and very wholesome too.

I also shared a visit to the amazing Bletchley Park in Buckinghamshire – the top secret facility that was home the code breakers who helped bring about the end of World War 2.

Visiting Bletchley Park

Bletchley Park is now open to the public and is a fascinating day out, a real step back in time. Make yourself a hot drink and join me in a virtual visit!

Are you celebrating Shrove Tuesday, Pancake Day, Mardi Gras or Fat Tuesday? My family traditionally celebrate Shrove Tuesday with pancakes.

Best Pancake Recipe for Shrove Tuesday

Last week I shared My Favourite Pancake Recipe, an old family recipe that makes light, fluffy pancakes every time.

  1. Thanks again for hosting, April! Today I’m sharing a special party I threw for my son’s birthday at school. As a food allergy kid, he usually can’t have the same treats as everybody else. Plus, our kids get way too much junk food at school nowadays, so we cut the food entirely and had a blast!

  2. Hi April. Thank you for hosting again. Have a nice week!

  3. Thank you for featuring my post today, April! I hope you have a wonderful week ahead!

  4. Happy Monday April! Hope your week is wonderful!

  5. Thank you so much, April, for featuring my post, and thank you too for hosting! Have a great week ahead

  6. Hi April,
Hope you are enjoying the wonderful weather that we are. Everything looks so good, can’t wait to explore the party. Thanks for hosting and have a great week!

  7. April,
My husband loves pancakes I’m going to have to try your recipe! Love stopping by your blog!

  8. I REALLY need to find balance in my life. I can’t wait to see what everyone posts! This is a great topic, April!

  9. Thanks for hosting, April! I shared a mix of recipes this week.

Btw, I wrote a post on balance long ago. When we sit still, we can be perfectly balanced. As long as we are moving/going forward however, there is no real balance. Instead we’re always seeking balance. We definitely choose the latter vs sitting still so part of our movement is seeking that balance.;-) It’s an important point to make because we all have a tendency to think that if we’re not feeling balanced that there’s something very wrong. While we can do many things to help keep the balance, we shouldn’t think that balance is a natural phenomenon or that we’re personally lacking if we don’t have “perfect balance.”

  10. Hi April! Your Banana and Chia Loaf Bread looks so good! Thanks for sharing it! I will ha e to try it the next time I have bananas ready for bread.

  11. Hello April, your banana and chia loaf cake looks awesome. I will check the recipe.
    Thanks for the party dear.

  12. Great features! Finding balance is so important!

  13. Thanks for hosting, April! Finding balance is what I need!

  14. Your Banana Loaf Cake with Dates and Walnuts is one good example of finding healthy balance in sweet pastries by baking it at home, & making it natural with a careful selection of ingredients :p

Since it is about balance, I also submitted a vegetarian meal to H&S this week: a balanced diet of carbs, fiber, proteins

Have a great week, and thanks for hosting

  15. April, thank you SO much for featuring Friendship Friday at your party!
This is the first time all week I’ve had to sit down and catch up with stuff so I am just catching your comment. I LOVE your party and I hope you are having an amazing week! 🙂

  16. I arrive a bit late to celebrate Shrove Tuesday, Pancake Day, Mardi Gras or Fat Tuesday. Many years ago I wrote a special unit of work to teach teachers about Pancake Day in order to help them to work with students. It was fantastic.
Love your pancakes’ recipe and pics. They reminded me beautiful memories.
    Have a nice weekend.
