Hearth and Soul Hop Leap Day Edition

The Hearth and Soul Hop Linky Party
Welcome to the Leap Day edition of the Hearth and Soul Hop! We welcome all family-friendly posts as well as, of course, food from the hearth to feed your soul.

I’m in California with my husband at the moment (he is working, I’m enjoying the sunshine and catching up with friends). Our son is arriving later in the week to join my husband and I as we celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and my husband’s birthday on 9th March. We are also planning a black tie dinner after we get home so it’s a very busy and exciting time for us.

Last week I shared a review of Prep-Ahead Meals From Scratch, a wonderful new book by former Hearth and Soul co-host Alea Milham of Premeditated Leftovers.

Find out more in my review – Prep-Ahead Meals From Scratch could revolutionize the way you feed your family!

I also shared a classic dessert.

My Easy Bread and Butter Pudding is a deliciously versatile recipe that helps you to love your leftovers whilst serving comfort food your family will love!

  5. April, have a wonderful time in California! I bet the weather is gorgeous! Sometime, you both will have to visit us in Florida! For this week’s Hearth and Soul Hop, I am sharing another favorite comfort food dish, Crockpot Spaghetti Sauce with Meat and a pretty springtime dish, Florida Citrus Salad with Mango-Tangerine Dressing. Thank you for hosting this fabulous event as well as for all your continued support!

    • Thank you, Linda! The weather has been pretty good although I think there may be some much needed rain on the way. We haven’t been to Florida in about 7 years so it is definitely on the list 🙂 Thank you for sharing your delicious recipes with us!

  6. Happy Anniversary… how wonderful that you get to see your son too.

  7. I always love reading about your travels and fun times, April! You all are living life to its fullest, which is the very best way to live it! 🙂 I missed your review of Alea’s book so I must check that out and your other features.

Because this month is National Peanut Month and tomorrow is National Peanut Butter Lover’s Day, I’m sharing two peanut butter recipes–my Flourless Peanut Butter Cookies (a “go to” recipe that is great for all, but especially gluten-free newbies) and Slow Cooker Peanut Butter Hot Fudge Cake (incredibly good!).

Have a super great week with all your celebrations! Can’t wait to hear more. 🙂

    • Thank you so much, Shirley! I didn’t know it was National Peanut Month – I will have to check that out! I do love peanut butter! I look forward to your recipes, especially the Peanut Butter Hot Fudge Cake!

  8. Wow! That is a lot of celebrating. I hope you have a great time. Happy anniversary and birthday to your husband. I am glad your son will be joining you. Thanks for the party and for the reminder about Alea’s book. I use her recipes! So practical and good.
