Hearth and Soul Hop Link Party 28 March

The Hearth and Soul Hop Linky Party
Welcome to our Hearth and Soul Hop Link Party! We invite you to share all family-friendly posts as well as, of course, food from the hearth to feed your soul.

We’ve had a four day ‘Bank Holiday’ weekend here in the UK for Easter. Unfortunately the weather hasn’t been great. In fact, the winds from Storm Katie were so bad our electric gates were broken again – I’ve only just had the bill to fix them from Storm Jake earlier in March! I’m grateful that was all the damage we had, many others were not so lucky. The UK has been really battered by storms this year.

It has been lovely to have some time around home though. My husband and I even went to the movies, something we haven’t done in about three years. If you are thinking of seeing My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2, I highly recommend it! It’s laugh out loud funny and very poignant too, a real feel good film.

Mixed Fruit Pavlova
After church on Easter Sunday, we spent a lovely afternoon with family. My sister in law made Mixed Fruit Pavlova (above). It’s such a wonderful dessert!

I hope everyone had a lovely Easter. If you have slightly past their best leftover Hot Cross Buns you are wondering what to do with, I’ve got the perfect recipe for you! Hot Cross Bun Pudding (above) makes a gorgeously comforting dessert.

Thank you to everyone who visited and shared with the Hearth and Soul Hop last week. Today I’m featuring:

  5. Oh my! It sounds like you’ve had some bad storms this month! And to have your gates broken twice!

I’ve been thinking about seeing My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 and your comments just sealed the deal for me!

And that pavlova recipe? It looks absolutely divine. And sounds so easy. I think that even I could make it! I’ve pinned it. I think I might make it this coming weekend!

  6. Thank you so much, April, for featuring my mother’s day menu.Thank you too for hosting. The pavlova looks wonderful. Have a great week ahead.

  9. Doesn’t get better looking than that mixed fruit paviova..Thanks for recommending the movie.I love a good laugh out loud movie and I really enjoyed the first one.

  10. Thanks for hosting the party!

  11. Storms sound scary, but I’m glad you are getting to relax. We had a nice Easter visiting my mother. I will take your recommendation on the movie, I loved the original and I have never looked at a bundt cake in quite the same way since seeing it.

    • Thankfully the storms seem to have let up now, Diane, and we even got our gates fixed (again!). I’m so glad you had a lovely Easter. I agree, bundt cake never looked the same to me either. Watch for the nod to that in the film, it’s very subtle, but there are bundt cakes 😉

  12. Thanks for the link-up April.

  13. April, thank you so much for featuring my Quinoa Flour recipe. That is so sweet of you. I put a link back on the recipe for this party. Just linked up for this week. A little late, but I snuck it in! 🙂

  14. April, thanks for hosting AND thanks for sharing your opinion of MBFGW2, which I’m planning to see soon.
