The Hearth and Soul Hop December 1

The Hearth and Soul Hop
Welcome to The Hearth and Soul Hop, the blog hop for family and comfort food recipes, healthy, sustainable living posts, homemaking, gardening, family, kids, crafts and DIY. Encouraging and inspiring posts are very welcome too.

It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas here in the UK. With our very rainy weather and the sun setting at about 3pm we are desperate for some light and celebration so a lot of the Christmas decorations are going up early this year – including my own! I’ve also been sharing some of our British Christmas Traditions in my post What is Mincemeat and some Christmas craft and decorating inspiration in How to Make a Wreath.

Thank you so much to everyone who shared posts with the hop last week. Today I am featuring a fun Christmas craft, some delicious baked doughnuts and some fabulous mini pecan pies.

    Hi April,
It really looks like Christmas here in NY we have snow. Big storm the day before Thanksgiving. I bought Christmas crackers or poppers yesterday to represent a the British part of the family. Thanks for the party..have a good holiday season.

    • I heard you might be going to get snow in NY! We just have grey skies and cold weather – although snow tends to bring the UK to a halt so I hope we don’t get much! Christmas Crackers are a really big thing over here – I hope you enjoy them 🙂 Hope you are having a lovely holiday season too!

  5. April, coming back later for a thorough reading of the mincemeat recipes. I make my own mincemeat, but I haven’t posted it yet. Must do that soon. I love little mince pies. And you’ve reminded me it’s been way too long since I’ve made stroganoff!
