Welcome to The Hearth and Soul Hop, the blog hop for family and comfort food recipes, healthy, sustainable living posts, homemaking, gardening, family, kids, crafts and DIY. Encouraging and inspiring posts are very welcome too.
We had a very bittersweet day on Friday when we said goodbye to my lovely mother in law, Avril. She had arranged the songs and readings for the funeral herself so we really had a sense of her being there. Avril arranged it so that as well as tears we shared some lovely happy memories and laughter. The chapel was so full people had to stand at the back. One of the things we did as a tribute to Avril was to bring a bit of brightness into the sea of dark colours with her favourite colour, pink. Flowers from the family were pink, my sister in law, her nieces and I wore matching pink scarves and her son, grandsons and son in law all wore pink socks.
I will always remember the day as a wonderful celebration of Avril’s life, elegance and of the family she built and nurtured.
Thank you to everyone who shared posts with us last week. Today I’m featuring:
