The Gallery of Favorites: The Gift of Compassion

Alea of Premeditated Leftovers and I want to welcome you to our weekend blog hop, The Gallery of Favorites.

In the United States many people are marking a National Day of Mourning for the victims of Newton today. Since last Friday, the innocent victims of this tragedy and the community of Newton as a whole have been constantly in my thoughts and prayers. I send my deepest sympathy to everyone involved.

Although there is absolutely nothing we can say or do to ease the pain of this terrible event, we can honour those who have died in many different ways. Acts of kindness and charity are a wonderful way of doing this. Bearing this in mind, today we are featuring The Gift of Compassion by Barb of A Life in Balance.

In this post, Barb reminds of the importance of treating everyone with kindness, particularly at this busy time of year. She discusses the how our actions can impact on others in both positive and negative ways, as well as how a little thoughtfulness can go a very long way. If you would like to donate to the city of Newton or Sandy Hook Elementary School, you can find more information here.

Although Alea and I both spend a lot of our time writing about food, we also have many other interests and we know that our readers do as well. The Gallery of Favorites is a place for all bloggers to share any and all of their ideas, interests and passions. We welcome posts on any subject from your own blogs. Seasonal, craft and tutorial projects are very welcome too.

Include a link to your actual posts, rather than to your blog.

Please include a link to one of the hosts actually in your post if you want to be considered for our weekly feature, either by text or with our button:
