The Hearth and Soul Hop August 10

The Hearth and Soul Hop Link Party
Welcome to the The Hearth and Soul Hop link party! We welcome posts about home & family, recipes, healthy living, gardening, crafts & DIY as well as encouraging & inspiring posts. We are a ‘no rules’ link party!

We have only had a few sunny days here in the UK – it is a very strange summer indeed. The weather on the weekend was lovely though and my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed catching up with our friends in Buckinghamshire.

The Hearth and Soul Hop
I hope that the weather is being kinder to you wherever you may be. I know that many folks are experiencing serious extremes of weather at this time. I’m thinking particularly of those affected by drought and forest fires as well as by severe storms and flooding. Many of my friends in Australia are experiencing a very, very cold winter as well.

Speaking of cold, I hesitate to mention Christmas in August but I am offering UK readers a chance to win a pair of tickets to for the wonderful Country Living Magazine Christmas Fair in London which takes place in November.

Country Living Magazine Christmas Fair Ticket Giveaway
There’s also a discount code that lets you purchase tickets 2 for the price of 1. Country Living Magazine Fairs are one of my favourite places for home, food, craft and gift inspiration. The Christmas Fair is a great way to find virtually everything you need for the holiday season in one place.

Last week I shared my Chocolate and Blueberry Pudding Cake.

  1. The weather is definitely no kinder here, as we had such a heat wave last week, and even now it’s still very hot (and humid)
Thanks for the party April 🙂

  2. Hi April,
Just getting settled back in our home after having no A/C for over a week. We are so blessed to have wonderful family and friends who took really good care of us! Hope you are having a good week and thanks so much for the party.
    Miz Helen

    • I’m so glad you are settled back in at home, Miz Helen. It’s wonderful your family and friends were so hospitable. Thank you so much for visiting and sharing. Wishing you a wonderful week!

  3. We’ve been having some beautiful weather lately here in Vermont! However we are already seeing signs of fall! Thanks for featuring my Blueberry Lime Jam, I love having that tasty jam in my pantry! Thanks for hosting too!
    – Nancy

    • Vermont is so beautiful, especially in the fall! I’ve only been there once but I loved it. Your jam looks amazing, Nancy. I really liked the addition of the lime. Thank you for being a part of the Hearth and Soul Hop!

  4. We had our niece visiting from London she had to buy sunglassses… NYC was too bright for her. Sorry to hear your summer isn’t sunny. Thanks so much for the party.

    • Wow, I’m a bit envious of your sunshine Diane. London hasn’t seen much of it this year! It’s lovely your niece was able to visit. Thank you so much for being a part of the Hearth and Soul hop.

  5. Weather affects us so much. I have a hard time without enough sunny days. So glad you just had a weekend with great weather though!

Oh my goodness, that Country Living Fair event will be wonderful! Your Chocolate an Blueberry Pudding Cake looks exceptional, April. I can never resist pudding cakes. 😉

This week I’m linking up my Paleo Bread recipe (which makes it great for those who are gluten free and/or dairy free, egg free, vegan–no need to be paleo) and Banana Split Muffins from my Muffin Madness event a while back. It happens to be Banana Split Day so the latter seemed appropriate. 🙂

Thanks so much for hosting, April. I appreciate you and Swathi! Have a good week.

    • Thank you so much, Shirley. I love the idea of a Banana Split Day – what a great thing to celebrate! I look forward to your Banana Split Muffins – they sound very good. I’m interested in your Paleo bread as well. Thank you so much for your support of the Hearth and Soul Hop! Wishing you a lovely week.

  6. We’re having our normal weather here in Utah in the United States — hot with occasional thundershowers. We’re sort of in a drought condition but then Utah is considered a semi-desert so I guess things are normal!

  7. Thanks for the feature April!! I’ll keep marking your comments as not spam and maybe it will get sorted out!

  8. Thank you for featuring my post on walking onions, April.

Our weather has been horrible this summer. All that rain this spring means high humidity in summer, and our heat index has been as high as 115°F. Ugh.

  9. Hey April – thank you again for hosting another great party! Just added my links and wanted to pop in and say hi – weather here in Fresno, CA? Bright and sunny! 😀 Have a fabulous day!!!

    • Hi Deb! Thank you so much for visiting and sharing. I love California weather. I’m hoping we are going to get another visit there in before Christmas! We’ve had two trips to your lovely state already this year but with this serious lack of sunshine I’d welcome another one!

  10. April, thank you so much for hosting another fabulous party! Hope you enjoy the rest of your week and hope to see you tomorrow at The Wednesday Roundup Link Party 🙂

  11. Hello gorgeous! Thank you so much for hosting such a fabulous party! Please take a minute and stop by our party. We would love to party with you twice this week! Lou Lou Girls

  12. Thank you, April, for hosting! Have a great week ahead!

  13. Thanks so much for hosting the party. Great linkups this week:-)

  14. Thanks so much for hosting, April. Enjoy your week!

  15. April, I’m not a fan of summer and sunshine myself. We should trade places!

  17. Thanks for the party April. You’re not wrong about the weather. Here in normally sunny Queensland, we enjoy mild winters but not this year. It’s been very cold for us. BUT today it got to 27 deg C with still just under 2 weeks of winter to go. Go figure! Enjoy the rest of your week.

  18. April, I added a second link this time. Now I’m going to check out that great looking casserole in your latest post.

  19. Hi April, you both look awesome in the picture. Weather here in Calgary is still very hot.
Thanks for hosting the lovely party.

    • Thank you so much for the compliment, Sadhna! I hope it cools down in Calgary a bit and warms up a little here 🙂 Thank you so much for being a part of the Hearth and Soul Hop!
