The Hearth and Soul Hop Link Party April 27

The Hearth and Soul Hop Link Party
Welcome to the April 27th edition of The Hearth and Soul Hop Link Party – the link party for all things home and family – family and comfort food recipes, healthy and sustainable living posts, homemaking, gardening, kids, crafts and DIY. We love thought provoking, encouraging and inspiring posts too.

Time seems to be flying by at the moment – I can’t believe it will be May in a couple of days! And did you know that in June the Hearth and Soul Hop will be celebrating its fifth anniversary? I’m getting excited about that already!

Poor Mans Steak Diane The Magical Slow Cooker
Last week I shared a wonderful new cookbook by blogger Sarah Olson called The Magical Slow Cooker. The post also includes Poor Man’s Steak Diane, one of the recipes in the book. The recipe is so easy and it tastes as good as it looks! (Thanks to my son Alex Harris for taking the photograph.)
Bonne Maman Madeleine MasterclassI also shared a post about the wonderful Bonne Maman Madeleine Masterclass I attended in London as well as master patissier Eric Lanlard’s recipe for Summer Fruits and Bonne Maman Madeleine Charlotte Cake.

Today I’m featuring:-

Lucky Lemon Chicken from What's on the List

Wonderful memories and a scrumptious recipe for Lucky Lemon Chicken from Joanne of What’s on the List?

Books for Boys
Great ideas for encouraging kids to read and a selection of Wonderful Books for Boys from Nina at Grandma Ideas.

Eggplant Caviar
And healthy, colourful and tasty Eggplant Caviar from Tanusree at Ma Niche.

Thank you so much to everyone who visited and shared posts last week. Right, on with the party!

  1. Hi April–I’ve linked up my latest recipe from gfe this week–Molasses “Pudding” Cake–and my latest recipe roundup, Gluten-Free Pineapple Upside Down Cakes (and more pineapple desserts) on All Gluten-Free Desserts.

That Steak Diane looks delicious and what fun on the madeleine class! Thanks for hosting!

  12. Five years…wow! I’m loving that Steak Diane. I guess Steak Diane is supposed to be fancy restaurant food, but I like the comforting look of this “poor man’s” version.
Thanks for the party, April. I’ve linked a Taco Casserole for CInco de Mayo.

  13. April, I hope you’re all well now and going to stay that way. Five years? Wow! And doesn’t time fly! I’ve been blogging two months over the five-year mark now. Can’t quite believe it.

    • I’m much better now, thank you, Jean 🙂 Time really does fly! Congratulations on your 5 year blogoversary. I can hardly believe I am in my thirteenth year of blogging – although it is so different now than when I started out 🙂 Thank you for being part of the Hearth and Soul hop.

  14. I so want to make the Charlotte cake for Mother’s Day but I need to prepare myself mentally for this one 🙂

    • It’s not as hard as it looks, Maria. Although there’s quite a lot of steps Eric made it look easy. Having said that, I have not yet made it by myself! If you do make it, please let me know how you get on 🙂
