Hello and welcome to The Hearth and Soul Link Party. How are you doing? Like everyone else, I am trying to adapt and evolve to what feels like a constantly shifting landscape. Between COVID-19 and events on the world stage, 2021 certainly has started off with a bang. I hope this finds you and yours safe and well.
The Hearth and Soul Link Party welcomes blog posts about anything that feeds the soul. Things that feed the soul may include (but are not limited to) recipes, decorating, crafts, family, home, DIY, organization, travel, book reviews, the arts and self improvement.

What’s Been Happening as I Adapt and Evolve
I’m excited to announce that on Monday afternoon UK time, I will be a guest on Rachel Maunder’s Story Live Facebook Live. If you get a chance, please do check it out! (The recording will be visible on Rachel’s page after the event as well.)
I’ve been working to adapt and evolve by making a start on my New Year Aspirations. It’s so important we remember to be gentle with ourselves as we move through the uncertainties of the coming days.
The Read 21 in 2021 initiative has been incredibly comforting and inspiring. Reading 21 minutes every day has had a really positive effect on my mood and productivity. I have only missed one day so far and am on my second book already!
On The Blog
In the spirit of being gentle with ourselves as we make positive changes for the new year, I’m sharing 5 Reasons I Believe Women Need to Ditch the Scales.
I also shared an easy vegetarian main course that my husband always asks me to make.
Whole wheat pasta & roast vegetables make this flavourful, healthier Roast Vegetable Pasta Bake a pasta bake recipe with a difference.
If, like my husband and I, you are trying to adapt and evolve by eating less meat in 2021, I’ve got a resource to help!
Don’t miss my 3 Day Vegetarian Meal Plan with Recipes, a delicious way to try out meat free eating for a few days. (The days don’t have to be consecutive!)
If meat is more your thing, don’t miss one of my favourite ways to prepare chicken breasts.
Learn How To Poach Chicken Breasts Step By Step, perfect for all sorts of delicious recipes.
Thank you all for sharing your wonderful content!

April, I am so honored you featured my Elephant quilt and post! Thank you! Your are so right about needing to evolve to deal with the ever-changing Covid landscape and the lunacy in my country. We have to roll with it. But it is tough when things change often, and lately not for the better. Stay safe, friend!

I love your encouragement to be gentle with ourselves in the upcoming days. Sometimes I am way too hard on myself when gentleness would be the better approach. I need to go read 5 Reasons to Ditch the Scales because I definitely am hard on myself with weight. 🙁
April Harris says
I’m really glad it resonated with you, Lisa. We can be so hard on ourselves!

I am glad you are well and focusing on self care (evolving) during this pandemic. Since my partner works evenings, the kids and I eat meat free often during the week, leaving meat filled meals for family dinners on the weekend.
Thank you so much for hosting and I hope you have a wonderful week!

I love your reading goal; what a great idea to set aside a little time each day to read! Of course I seem to have the opposite problem where I really should probably set a limit on the time I spend reading each day. LOL. I am a total bookworm.
April Harris says
Thank you, Joanne! I think a bookworm is a lovely thing to be! I love reading, I just struggle to fit it in 🙂

Thanks so much for hosting April. I absolutely loved your New Year Aspirations post! My favorite tip was thinking of what I would say to a friend who wanted the achieve the same thing. Totally different then what I say to myself! Very helpful point! Thanks again and have a great week.
