Welcome to the Hearth and Soul Link Party. While many things are staying the same, especially staying in to stay well, we are also facing daily changes and an evolving landscape in our lifestyle. I hope that the party can be a constant in our lives, something that is always there despite so many other changes. Thank you all so much for your support!
Whether your blog posts are old or new, as long as they are about things that feed the soul, they are welcome here at The Hearth and Soul Link Party. Things that feed the soul may include (but are not limited to) recipes, decorating, crafts, family, home, DIY, organization, travel, book reviews, the arts and self improvement.
What’s Been Happening
It’s definitely an evolving landscape here, with talk of formulating a plan for easing restrictions once it seems safe to do so. Social distancing will be the norm for some time to come though, and it is presenting challenges as we get ready for an evolving landscape.
Here on the blog I’ve been sharing comfort food and a few treats as well. I’m all about comfort food these days but I do love a recipe that comes together fast and gets rave reviews.
Traditional Chicken Noodle Soup can take hours to make, but Easy Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup Recipe is a wholesome shortcut. It even has a gluten free option – and (believe it or not!) a vegetarian option too.
If you are in need of a treat, don’t miss my latest cake recipe.
Richly spiced date and walnut studded Banana Date Cake with Walnut and Honey Glaze is a deliciously moist cake with a with buttery sweet, nutty glaze that is hard to resist.
Thank you all so much for visiting and sharing your marvellous content!

It’s so true that this has been the spring of Comfort Food focus! Somehow when we are home, we want to gather around the recipes we love and that come with memories of past gatherings.
This is so true, Michele! Thank you so much for your support of Hearth and Soul!
Our state is continuing social distancing, but starting to open up more businesses. I hope and pray the transition goes well.
I’m not a fan of dates, but someone gave us a date cake once that was delicious. That Banana Date Cake looks wonderful. I need to look up the no yeast oat bread. Bread has not been my best thing, so I like to look for nontraditional ways to make it.
I hope the transition does go well, Barbara. We are expecting the announcement of a plan on Sunday, but it will be some time until we actually open things up much. I’m definitely praying too! Thank you for the compliment on the banana date cake! Take care and stay well.
Thank you, April! Once again a lovely listing of posts to visit.
Thank you for visiting and sharing, Melynda!
April many thanks for the feature, and for hosting the party. It’s so lovely to have other bloggers posts to relax with and forget about our troubles!
Hoping all is well with you

Miz Helen
Thank you so much, Miz Helen! I would love it if you had time to make it! No pressure though – take care and stay well!
Thank you for hosting, April! Comfort food seems to be the theme in our house as well right now, & this week I’ve shared one of our favorites with our homemade easy biscuit recipe. Have a wonderful week!
Thank you so much, Suzan! I do love biscuits with a meal! I hope your week is wonderful too!
Our state has eased some restrictions with a “safer at home” theme. I will certainly be continuing to stay at home as much as possible as I don’t feel the virus is less of a danger as yet.
Your soups recipe and new cake recipes both look like gems, April. I’ll pin both to try in the near future.
Thank you so much, Pat! I agree, staying at home is definitely safer at this point. Do take care. Thinking of you!
I am not sure how to link up? There doesn’t seem to be a link up link?
Hi Laura, I’m sorry you had trouble linking up. Linky tools must have been down temporarily overnight or something. The blue link up button in showing now at the bottom of the post. 🙂
That chicken noodle soup looks so yummy. Thanks for sharing it with us. Hope you have a wonderful week and keep safe and healthy.
Thank you, Patrick. I hope your week is wonderful too. Take care and stay safe and well.
April,
I just noticed your bowl in the chicken soup picture! I have the same set of dishes only in the black pattern. We picked them out to match the kitchen in my last house in SC. We LOVE our dishes – made in the UK!
And yes, we are all living in an ever evolving landscape. We will adapt and make it through.
Take care!

That is so cool, Melissa! We must have very similar taste 🙂 Thank you for visiting. Take care and stay well.
Thank you for hosting! This is what I featured the week of 4-27 to 5-1 on my blog. On Tuesday were Sesame Pork Chops with Asian Glaze. Wednesday was Marsala Pork Chops. Thursday was Easy Sweet and Sour Pork. And winding up this Week of Pork is Tip Friday Beating Egg Whites and How-To Make Condensed Cream Soup Base. Enjoy!
Lots of wonderful posts, Marilyn! Thank you so much for sharing 🙂
Hi April, I think an evolving landscape is certainly true and I’m praying that more good can come out of these uncertain times than continued sadness for so many! It is a wonderful thing to have certain constants in our lives. Thank you so much for continuing to post and share and give so much support to everyone.
I agree, Helen, I’m praying too! Thank you so much for your support of Hearth and Soul. Take care and stay well!
Thank you for the party and feature April 🙂
It’s a pleasure, Erin! Take care.
I’m concerned that many in my area count “easing of restrictions” to be “we’re free to do whatever” now. 🙁 Unfortunately we won’t know the results until a month from now. It’s easier to discipline ourselves when we see more immediate results, but that’s not the way this disease works. Sigh. Anyway, thanks for sharing these recipes and for your faithfulness in hosting!
Oh dear, Lisa, that is very worrying! I do hope you and yours stay well. Please take care. Thank you for your support of Hearth and Soul.
Hi April. I just wanted to comment on the ease of moving around and finding things on your linky site. It is very well organized. I do not find that on all linky sites. Have a good day.
Thank you so much, Betty! I use the inLinkz tool. I appreciate the compliment, and thank you for visiting and sharing. Wishing you a lovely day too!
Thanks for hosting April and enjoy the week!
