Spring is well and truly sprung in most places and Easter and Passover are fast approaching. I love how this time of year feels like a new beginning. Welcome to the Hearth and Soul Link Party! This week I’m featuring carrot recipes and more.
At Hearth and Soul, blog posts old and new, about anything that feeds the soul, are welcome. This includes – but is not limited to – family, home, recipes, decorating, crafts, DIY, travel, organisation, book reviews, the arts and self improvement.
So why carrots? Well, carrots have long been considered a symbol of spring and fertility. Did you also know they are said to bring good luck to a bride? Not that I’ve seen many brides carrying bunches of carrots. Now that would be an interesting look! Seriously though, there were a lot of carrot recipes shared last week! Don’t worry if carrots aren’t your thing, I’m featuring some other wonderful spring posts as well!
Before I go any further, please note:-
Next Week’s Hearth and Soul Link Party
The Hearth and Soul Link Party is taking a mini break next week as it is the Easter holiday long weekend here in the UK.
This week’s party will stay open until Thursday April 25th so please do continue to visit and link up.
The next Hearth and Soul Party after this week will go live on Monday April 29th.
Wishing everyone who is celebrating a very Happy Easter!
Chag Sameach to everyone who is celebrating Passover!
What’s Been Happening On The Blog
Last week I brought back an oldie but a goodie, a historic family recipe that has been in my family for four generations.
My Auntie Margaret’s Spice Cake is gorgeously fragrant and richly flavoured with warming spices, perfect with a cup of tea or coffee any time of day.
I’m also making a lot of these delicious muffins at the moment.
My nutty, orange-spiked Carrot Walnut Bran Muffins make it feel like you are having Carrot Walnut Cake for breakfast – but they are a lot more wholesome!
Carrot Recipes and More Features
I’m so grateful to all of you who are part of the Hearth and Soul Community. Thank you for your support! This week’s features include:-
Carrot Recipes and More (from top left, clockwise):-
Be sure the VIB (Very Important Bunny) stops at your house with this cute Sign for the Easter Bunny from Chas’ Crazy Creations.
Any little girl would love these cute DIY Peter Cottontail Girls’ Knee High Socks from Victoria at Dazzle While Frazzled. (This fits into the theme because Peter Cottontail was famous for eating carrots – stick with me here!)
Whether you call it Grated Carrot Salad or Salade de Carottes Rapees, this fresh, easy to make salad from Jean at Delightful Repast is a new classic, full of simple ingredients, deliciously prepared.
Tracey at The Kitchen Is My Playground has a delicious family recipe for Carrot Sheet Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting that has a surprising shortcut ingredient to make it easy!

I am sitting here watching the horror of Notre Dame being engulfed in fire, what a horrible tragedy, what a loss to all of the world not only France. I remember being there with my husband and am grateful I had that opportunity, I am very sad. Thanks for the party today April, I am so glad that we have this connection with you in London, it somehow makes our world a little smaller. God be with the people of France and all of us!
