When Emily Dickinson wrote “I Dwell in Possibility” she was expressing her love for creativity and preference for poetry over prose. However to me, this poem has always been about hope and reinvention. Welcome to the Hearth and Soul Link Party!
Whether your blog posts are old or new, as long as they are about things that feed the soul, they are welcome here at The Hearth and Soul Link Party. Things that feed the soul may include (but are not limited to) recipes, decorating, crafts, family, home, DIY, organization, travel, book reviews, the arts and self improvement.
What’s Been Happening as I Work to Dwell in Possibility
I’m doing an Online Business Bootcamp with Suzanne Mountain, The Non-Millennial Business Coach. I’m looking at new new projects as well as ideas for the blog. It’s very exciting to dwell in possibility this way!
I’m also doing lots of work on the blog, updating old posts, developing some new recipes and writing new articles too.
My husband (who has been working at home since March) and I are continuing our daily walks at 7am each morning. We started to keep track of the distance we were covering 5 weeks ago (I wish we’d started from the beginning of lockdown).
In the last five weeks we’ve walked over 235 miles, over a marathon a week. It’s a great way to start off a busy day and has been good for our bodies and our souls!
Don’t miss my latest newsletter – also entitled Dwell in Possibility – which came out this week. With the 10th anniversary of The Hearth and Soul Link Party fast approaching, you will definitely want to keep up with the latest!
New On The Blog This Week
Come on over to the Dark Side, we’ve got cookies!
Old Fashioned Oatmeal Coconut Cookies to be precise! If you are as much of a fan of Oatmeal Cookies as I am, you will love this twist on the usual Oatmeal Raisin variety. The cookie dough rolls can be kept on hand in the fridge or freezer, ready to bake at a moment’s notice. It’s lovely to have treats on hand ready for care packages or to go with a cup of tea when you just need a little something.
Thank you all for sharing your inspiring and encouraging content with the Hearth and Soul Link Party!

Hi April
How wonderful to have done so many miles walking. It really is the best exercise. I’m sure you are enjoying doing it with your husband these “work from home” days
April Harris says
I really am, Pat.😀 It’s a healthy start to what are often 14 – 15 hours days for him, as he starts at 9am and often has calls in the evenings with the US as well. Although I think sometimes he’d prefer I didn’t get him out of bed so early to do the walks 😂Have a wonderful week, and thank you for your support of Hearth and Soul!

Hi April! Thank you so much for featuring our backyard camping post. Camping, whether in the woods or the backyard is something we have enjoyed doing as a family over the years. I have to say that I am so impressed with your logged walking miles! You deserve an oatmeal cookie! Good luck with all of your new ideas and endeavors!

I feel like I am constantly updating old blog posts; I make it a goal to check in each morning on any old posts written that same day (going back for the whole 8 years I’ve been blogging). It’s an easy way to update without feeling overwhelmed by trying to tackle it all in one fell swoop.
April Harris says
It is hard, Joanne! That is a good system, and a great way to check. I’ve been blogging since 2002, but not everything from the beginning is on the blog after 18 years and four redesigns. But that is an interesting way to look at the more recent posts, that is for sure! Take care and have a lovely weekend!
