Happy Spring! It was so lovely to return home and see the trees in blossom and daffodils in bloom. Welcome to The Hearth and Soul Link Party! This week I’m featuring some of the wonderful Easter Recipes and Ideas that were shared at the party last week.
At Hearth and Soul, blog posts old and new, about anything that feeds the soul, are welcome. This includes – but is not limited to – family, home, recipes, decorating, crafts, DIY, travel, organisation, book reviews, the arts and self improvement.
I’m publishing Hearth and Soul early this week as we are in Cambridge visiting with our son and his partner. I’m publishing on Sunday as I’m taking the day off on Monday to enjoy our time together.
What’s Been Happening on The Blog
Adapted from my Mocha Cake with a Twist, my new Gluten-Free Mocha Cake is everything you want a mocha cake to be – moist, chocolate-y, coffee-spiked gorgeousness that is just about irresistible!
While I was in California I spent some time with my good friend Sandi learning more about gluten free baking and adapting this recipe to gluten free diets. Sandi (who also took the photograph above) is author of the fabulous gluten-free recipe blog Fearless Dining, where there are hundreds of delicious, family-friendly gluten free recipes with step by step instructions.
I’ve also brought back an oldie but a goodie.
This deliciously healthy recipe for Old Fashioned Bran Muffins has been part of our family for over 40 years.
On with the features from last week! Thank you to everyone for visiting and sharing.

I could have sworn that bunny in the grass is chocolate: how funny. As for the mocha cake, oh my gosh, I don’t often binge on sweet things, but that might just do it! Hope Cambridge is lovely for you.

Hey April, I’ve been trying to upload a link for a couple of days and it’s not able to upload a picture, Others don’t seem to be having a problem. Are there some new restrictions with your your new linkup? Hope you’re doing well.
April Harris says
Hey MJ, You aren’t the first person to have problems with the new InLinkz. I haven’t put any new restrictions in place myself – I’m finding it so frustrating the way they have changed things. It’s affecting lots of people. Have you registered? Failing that, please let me know what recipe you would like to share (either here or by email april@apriljharris.com) and I will go to your site and add it to the Linky myself. I love your recipes and I want to be sure you can share them! I’m sorry for any frustration you may have experienced!
Karren Haller says
I brought over my Fruity Cheesecake topped with Cool Whip.
I agree about the new Inlinkz, I and Kathleen sent them long letters with our frustrations and that they should still maintain the old one, but to no avail. I wish there were another widget for parties.
Thanks for hosting, have a great week!
April Harris says
Thank you so much for your lovely recipe, Karren! It sounds delicious! I wish there was another widget too! Wishing you a lovely week 🙂
