Made In the Office by Rachel Maylor is a new book that helps you eat well every day, even when you are at the office or working with limited kitchen equipment.
Written to help people make fresh and delicious food on site for their workday breakfast, lunch and snacks, Made in the Office is perfect for anyone who wants to eat frugally and well. As all you need to make the recipes is a kettle, toaster and microwave, it’s also perfect for university students.
It’s so easy to fall into the pre-packed lunches and leftover dinners trap when you don’t have a full compliment of kitchen equipment. However with Made In The Office you can eat well every day, creating wholesome breakfasts, lunches and snacks you will look forward to – and some naughty but nice treats as well!
Rachel shares tips and tricks on how to cook delicious, good for you ingredients in the microwave. From poached eggs for Easy Eggs Florentine to poached salmon for a Chili Poached Salmon, there’s a range of delicious salads and crostini too.
Quick to make spreads and jams mean you can keep your diet varied as well as healthy. Don’t miss the amazing Cream Tea Spread for a taste of luxury with your afternoon cuppa. There are also lots of alternatives to tea and coffee from Blackberry and Mint Lemonade to Warm Cinnamon and Honey Milk.
Fancy a quick snack but want to keep it healthy? Apple Crackers with Almond Butter and Mashed Berries are a wholesome, tasty way to get your sweet fix and avoid that mid-afternoon slump.
I was really impressed by this beautifully photographed, well organised and portable cookbook. The ingredients Rachel uses are easy to source and the recipes are “designed to minimize waste and maximize taste”. Made in the Office by Rachel Maylor is perfect for anyone who works in an office or anyone who is cooking with limited resources. It would make a great Christmas gift too!

This is great for college kids as well! We have a group of friends going away next year, and they could do this! In my day there were only hot plates, I can’t imagine having been able to have a microwave in the dorms!
