Welcome to the February 2023 Edition of the Hearth and Soul Link Party. The days are getting longer, and spring is just a little over a month away. It’s definitely reason to celebrate. I have noticed green shoots pushing their way through the cold ground on my woodland walks, foreshadowing the carpet of bluebells to come. In my garden, crocus, iris, hellebore and even early daffodils are starting to bloom. I hope spring is beginning to arrive in your corner of the world as well – although I know many of you have a lot of snow at the moment!
The Hearth and Soul Link Party welcomes family-friendly blog posts about anything that feeds the soul. Things that feed the soul may include (but are not limited to) recipes, decorating, crafts, family, home, DIY, organization, travel, book reviews, the arts and self improvement.
The Latest – February 2023 Edition
The year got off to a wonderful start for my husband and I with a visit to Edinburgh to celebrate the birthdays of our son Alexander and his partner, Hannah. I also had some fun and productive get togethers with colleagues, friends and family and a lovely weekend in London too.
We are now getting ready for a renovation project at our home, starting with the main bathroom in a couple of weeks time. I’m grateful we have more than one bathroom! Then it’s on to the kitchen renovation in (hopefully) mid-April. This could be slightly more challenging as it could take up to eight weeks. I’m hard at work in the kitchen now so that I will have lots of new content to share with you during the renovations.
Holly Scott, our designer, is hard at work on designs for the kitchen, living room, dining room, hall/stairs/landing and our principle bedroom. I can’t wait to share the plans and lots of behind the scenes before and after shots with you – as well as the results.
New On the Blog
I have lots of new and updated content to share with the February 2023 Edition. Don’t miss my spring decorating ideas, virtual visits to beautiful, historic Cliveden House Hotel and ideas to help you keep the romance alive long after Valentine’s Day has passed.
Enjoy some delicious vegetarian comfort food with my Vegetarian Orzotto with Mediterranean Vegetables. You can be the star of Sunday brunch with my Blueberry French Toast Casserole (which can also double as Blueberry Bread and Butter Pudding if you are looking for a delicious dessert). Plus, don’t forget to treat yourself with Blood Orange Pound Cake (maybe with a side of Blood Orange No Churn Ice Cream) or my Old-Fashioned Applesauce Pecan Brownies.

Hi April
It is hard to believe it is already February! We had a little “getaway” trip to a warmer climate and it made me dream more of spring. It sounds like your spring will be a busy one with house renovations in progress but I’m sure you will enjoy it all afterward.
Thanks for hosting!

Eight weeks of work in the kitchen is a long time! But I am sure the results will be worth it. How exciting to get some updates done around the house. Sounds like your trip to Edinburgh was lovely all around.

Hi April,
Sounds like you have a really fun month planned. Good luck with the kitchen re-model, its a lot of fun, and a challenge for bloggers. We are recovering from a major week long ice storm, the sun is out today and it is so nice. Have a great month and thanks so much for the party!

OH I bet you are so excited for the remodels! It can be so hard to live through but I always try to remind myself that it’s temporary and will be so much better in the end.

I am, but I am daunted too, Joanne! Thank you for the encouragement – it will definitely help to remember to think about the end result when we are mid-way through! Have a lovely weekend.
