Welcome to Hearth and Soul! I’m so happy to ‘see’ you! This week we are gearing up for fall at The Hearth and Soul Link Party. There are lots of ideas and inspiration for this season in transition.
At the Hearth and Soul Link Party, you can share blog posts old and new, about anything that feeds the soul. This includes – but is not limited to – family, home, recipes, decorating, crafts, DIY, travel, organisation, book reviews, the arts and self improvement.
How are things going in your corner of the world? Here we are gearing up for fall as well as preparing for another season of travel. It’s an exciting time! I’m publishing a bit early today as it’s the August Bank Holiday Monday (long weekend) and I’m off to a Classic Car Rally with family and friends.
The Latest
There was a lot going on this week, but a highlight was definitely a trip up to London on Thursday to meet up with our son Alex and his partner, Hannah . My husband was working, but the three of us had a very nice time together, including dinner at Le Caprice, one of my very favourite London restaurants.
Alex had some appointments in town for part of the afternoon, so Hannah and I took a taxi to the Victoria and Albert Museum to see Christian Dior – Designer of Dreams.
It was fantastic to see so many beautiful vintage and modern designs displayed so creatively under one roof, as well as dresses worn by some very famous people. I was able to take lots of photos, so watch this space for an upcoming featured blog post on Dior – Designer of Dreams.
I’ve been spending a lot of time in the kitchen working on new recipes, as well as creating gluten free versions of some of my most popular baking recipes. I’m excited to get them on the blog very soon! This week I was focused on writing around travel as well.
I’m excited to finally share some of the adventures my husband and I had on our Weekend in Edinburgh, as well as my top tips for visiting this beautiful, historic city.
I’m so grateful to you all for visiting and sharing! This week’s featured posts are all about gearing up for fall.

Happy Monday, April, and thank you for hosting again this week! Those gowns!! That middle one is to die for 🙂 This week it’s all about the elderberry here on the hill. I’ve shared #1, 14 Elderberry Benefits, and # 2, How To Prepare for Cold & Flu Season with Elderberry Tincture. Have a wonderful week!

Happy new week, Suzan! I love the middle gown too. Coincidentally it was actually named “Avril”! It was from the 1957 collection so actually designed by Dior himself. I’m so glad you shared the posts on elderberries. I am fascinated by them.I used the tincture in the past and found it helpful but don’t know much beyond that. I look forward to reading your posts. I hope your week is wonderful too!

April,
Thank you so much for providing a vibrant and healthy link-up party! I feel like blogging and link-up’s are a dying breed, and it makes me so sad! So I am very thankful for yours and a place to share and meet other bloggers. I’m thinking of making my own for homeschooling, so we’ll see!

It’s a pleasure, Sarah! I definitely think blogging and link ups are evolving – but I think there is life in them yet 🙂 Thank you so much for your very kind words, and for visiting and sharing!
