Welcome to the Hearth and Soul Link Party edition for the first week in April. I hope everyone had a lovely Easter / Passover / weekend! This week I’m featuring posts about Great Things to Do in April to inspire you for the new spring season.
Good Friday and Easter Monday are still Bank Holidays in the UK, so many people have a four day weekend. Most major businesses aside from retail stores are closed. So unless you work in retail it’s a bit of a break, and hopefully a chance for some family time. My husband and I had a couple of days in Norfolk and Cambridge, and were happy to have a chance to see our son and his girlfriend. Last night we had dinner at The River Bar Steakhouse and Grill in Cambridge, overlooking the River Cam and Magdalen College.
Further upriver a weeping willow tree sat amidst a sea of yellow and white daffodils, trailing its branches in the water. It was a lovely evening, despite being a bit overcast and rainy.
Our weather hasn’t been all that spring like in terms of temperature, but we sure are getting a lot of spring rain. Oh well, at least it helps the veggies grow! I sure am looking forward to enjoying some of my favourite spring meals.
Recipes like my Spaghetti Primavera al Limone will be featuring on our dinner table very soon.
I’m also looking forward to spring desserts.
This family recipe for Mixed Fruit Pavlova is perfect for Spring celebrations.

That pavlova looks phenomenal! I’m linking up two new recipes from March Muffin Madness this week.
