Merry Christmas! Happy Hanukkah! Happy Holidays! Welcome to the Hearth and Soul Link Party!
At Hearth and Soul, blog posts about anything that feeds your soul are welcome. Share your blog posts about family, home, recipes, decorating, crafts, DIY, travel, organisation, book reviews, the arts, self improvement and more!
It’s definitely beginning to feel like Christmas at our house! We had our annual Christmas drinks and nibbles party on Friday, which always feels like the start of the Christmas season to me. I love entertaining! If you do too – or especially if you don’t – I have some tips for Holiday Entertaining Without Stress that you may find helpful.
Last week I also shared a family favourite recipe, perfect for holiday entertaining.
My Shrimp and Crab Appetizer Salad Recipe is also delicious served on crackers or bruschetta as canapés.
You can also make a virtual visit to St George’s Chapel, where the Royal Wedding is to be held in May 2018, in my post A Visit To Windsor Castle and St George’s Chapel.
And if you have yet to make a fruit cake, you still don’t have to buy one! Try this easy to make alternative.
My Brandy and Mincemeat Cake is easy to make and it doesn’t need to ‘age’ like fruit cake does. It’s also great for those who aren’t that keen on fruit cake as it has lots of holiday flavours but it’s a lot lighter.

My family would love the idea of a party that featured “drinks and nibbles.”
It’s been fun planning menus this year, and all four sons and their families will be together this Christmas, so I’ve got lots of nibbling to prepare for!
