Welcome to this week’s Hearth and Soul Link Party! It’s high summer here in the United Kingdom, and we are having some very warm weather. Last week it got up to 38 Celsius on the hottest day in the UK since records began. That’s just over 100 degrees Farenheit, very unusual for us! I know that many in the US have experienced high temperatures and very bad storms, and they have definitely been in my prayers. What’s the weather like in your neck of the woods?
At the Hearth and Soul Link Party, you can share blog posts old and new, about anything that feeds the soul. This includes – but is not limited to – family, home, recipes, decorating, crafts, DIY, travel, organisation, book reviews, the arts and self improvement.
What’s New?

Hi April!
I hope this finds your weather easing. Here in the Northeast, US, its now 95 degrees & humid. Definitely the dog days of summer :). Thank you firstly for hosting this wonderful party once again & secondly for the feature of my carrot storage for long-term fresh eating! I’m so glad you enjoyed it and certainly appreciate the feature! T

Hi April, I am traveling now and definitely making use of hotel gyms and pools! Thanks for all of your tips and for hosting! Since I am from Phoenix, AZ, I am no stranger to hot weather! I do feel sorry for everyone out there who is unprepared for it! Swimming, shade, AC, and lots of hydration! Those are my main tips. Stay cool!

Aletha Oglesby, M.D. says
In Oklahoma, USA, we expect 90-100+, F, temperatures this time of year but I am surprised to hear of it in Europe this year. This year we faced torrential rains and flooding back in the spring, the worst in 30 years. Some people are still working to get back to normal, but my home was spared. We all seem to find a way to cope with these weather fluctuations, don’t we? Thanks for the chance to link up.
April Harris says
I really am humbled by the terrible things so many folks have gone through with the rains and flooding, Aletha. The UK gets that many years but we are blessed to live on a very big hill! I am so pleased your home was spared. How frightening that must have been! Thank you so much for sharing your posts. I hope you have a wonderful rest of the week.
