What’s New On The Blog

Christmas Pudding is a big part of a British Christmas, and one of our holiday celebration ideas is to make a traditional Christmas pudding. We use my husband’s Grandmother’s recipe. Christmas pudding  is generally made on Stir Up Sunday, which was  25 November this year.

Why Women Need to Ditch The Scales

In Why Women Need To Ditch The Scales I discuss why I feel it’s time we gave up on judging ourselves by a random number – and how I lost 4 dress sizes adn and maintained the loss without getting weighed regularly.

April, I did read your Magnolia Market post email and isn’t it a wonderful place? I think I have stopped by four times now (just was there in June picking up a few things) on my way down to visit my daughter in Austin (Waco is 2 hours south of Denton, TX and 2 hours north of Austin). Works out perfectly for a pitstop and a little shopping… ;D Love that dining table inside the bakery!!!

Will have to check out your pudding post. I’d like to try and make one. They are steamed, aren’t they? Will get over and visit more this week while I am off work.

Have a lovely week and from across the Pond, Happy Thanksgiving!
    Hugs,
    Barb 🙂

It really is lovely, isn’t it, Barb? How wonderful that you live relatively close to Waco and that Magnolia is on route to your daughter! I’m a little bit envious that you can visit through the seasons. I bet it is lovely for Christmas!!
The puddings are steamed, and although it’s a day long project, it’s definitely worth the effort 🙂
We are celebrating Thanksgiving with our American friend and her family on Sunday and I can’t wait! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours too, Barb.
      Hugs,
      April 🙂
PS – I haven’t seen the hot cocoa bars yet – I look forward to visiting your post!

Instagram post 2193125280088611995_179821897 🌟 Getting in the Christmas Spirit🌟Magical evening in Pangbourne tonight at the Pangbourne Christmas Shopping evening. We started here @kikiandbow for lots of lovely Christmas gifts (and some delicious stollen), went on to @ninos.trattoria for more delicious gifts (and tasty pizza!) and enjoyed so many of the other lovely shops as well. The sausages Green's of Pangbourne were serving were amazing and we really enjoyed the mulled wine at @pangcheeseshop So lucky to live here! Check out my stories for more!

Instagram post 2190975069077257663_179821897 🎄 Have you put up your Christmas decorations yet? 🎄I love hearing about people’s traditions around decorating. So many wait until after a birthday or have a special date to start. I’d love to know what happens at your house!
🎄
My Christmas tree has been up since November 1, but only because I had a photo shoot ini early November. It was too much work to take it down again, and frankly it has brightened the dark mornings. 🎄
The rest of the house took shape last week before our first Christmas party. I’m loving how this swag of greenery, pinecones, feathers and flowers made by my favourite florist @greenparlour looks on my Grandmother’s and my Mom’s sideboard in the kitchen. I think that both these lovely late ladies would approve! .
