Can you love to travel, but still be all about home sweet home? Yes!! At this week’s Hearth & Soul Link Party there are great ideas for both home and away. Welcome!
At the Hearth and Soul Link Party, you can share blog posts old and new, about anything that feeds the soul. This includes – but is not limited to – family, home, recipes, decorating, crafts, DIY, travel, organisation, book reviews, the arts and self improvement.
I’ve just returned from our holiday in Canada. We had a wonderful time catching up with family and friends. Our son and his partner joined us for part of the holiday and it was lovely to spend time with them as well.
The weather was amazing – but very hot and humid, hence my rather floofy hair! We had lots of fun and some great adventures, including a wonderful meal with a great view at the 360 Restaurant at the CN Tower.
I’m excited to be home and to get back in the kitchen for some baking, despite how hot it is here! We’ve got some gorgeous blackberrries coming into season so I’m looking forward to making these Gluten Free Blackberry and Apple Scones as well as my Apple and Blackberry Cake.
Thank you to everyone who visited the blog and shared with Hearth and Soul over the last couple of weeks! I really appreciate your wonderful support of the party while I have been away. I’ve been popping in to visit, pin, and share your posts.

April,
I laughed about your “floofy” hair. It looked great to me. When I am in hot and humid weather, my hair looks like a brillo pad… glad you had a nice vacation with your son and thanks for another great party.
April Harris says
Aw, thank you, Judee! Humidity gets us all in one way or another I guess! Thank you for visiting and sharing 🙂

Thank you for hosting. I appreciate you so much. Thank you for sharing my stenciled towel. It really was quick and easy, sometimes those are the most fun to make.
You always leave the sweetest comments.

Hi April! Umm, I’m jealous because I love blackberries! Your vacation sounds like it was great! We leave next week for Wyoming! I am so excited to see my son and his family. He has 5 of my grandchildren! That must be the reason the posts I’ve shared this week are kid centered. Welcome back and have a wonderful week.

April, love your word “floofy!” I always say damp weather gives me “big hair.” I hate heat, but as with you, it doesn’t seem to stop me baking! Thank you so much for hosting Hearth and Soul.
April Harris says
Thank you, Jean! The humidity really did give me big hair! On the flip side it also gave me a lovely glow and my skin felt really soft, so that was good! Thank you for visiting and sharing as well. I really appreciate all your support! Try to stay cool, and have a wonderful weekend 🙂
