Love is all around us and it’s lovely celebrating it on Valentine’s Day. Hello and welcome to the Hearth and Soul Link Party! I hope all is well in your corner of the world.

What’s Been Happening
I have been making all sorts of plans for the months to come, and I’m looking forward to sharing some news with you as the year evolves! In the meantime, I’ve been busy with online speaking engagements, networking at online meetings with my WIBN and Athena Groups, creating content and spending time in the kitchen cooking and baking up a storm.
I always look forward to Valentine’s Day, but I’m more excited than ever about it this year. I love celebrating minor holidays to help brighten the days of lockdown.
I’m still working on my Valentine’s Day Menu. Between all the inspiration here at Hearth and Soul and these Valentine’s Day Dessert Recipes, I’ve definitely got lots of options for the sweet course!
I’ve also been sharing lots of seasonal recipes using blood oranges. Of course, if blood oranges are not available, all these recipes can be made with ordinary oranges as well. The colour of the finished recipe may vary a little as blood oranges are pink or red, but the flavour is very similar.
I recently updated my Chocolate Orange Marble Cake Recipe with new photographs. There are step by step instructions to make the marbling easy too. If you love blood oranges as much as I do, you can find lots of Blood Orange Recipes here on the blog.
I also shared a healthy fish recipe that could definitely work for a special Valentine’s Day dinner.
My Baked Cod with a Sautéed Vegetable Topping is perfect for everyday, but it’s easy to dress it up for celebrations too. Served with rice or a grain free side, it’s gluten free too. If cod isn’t available you can use any firm white fish for this recipe too.
Coming next week – a brand new pancake recipe that could revolutionise Shrove Tuesday/Pancake Day (16th February this year) and brunch for months to come!
Thank you all for being a part of the Hearth and Soul Community and for sharing your wonderful content.

I’m a little late to the party April, we got caught up in the Super Bowl game last night! Valentine’s Day will be a quiet dinner at home for us this year, but we are grateful for everything we have.

I’m glad you enjoyed watching the Super Bowl, Leslie. My son started to watch it but it’s on so late here that he didn’t watch all the way to the end. I hope you and yours have a lovely Valentine’s Day!

Cindy Mom, the Lunch Lady says
It will be a quiet family valentine’s day here this year, as our stay at home order has been extended for another week. I hope you have a wonderful week and thanks for hosting April!
April Harris says
I’m glad you are keeping well, Cindy. It will be quiet here too as our stay at home order (which came into effect on 26th December) will be in place until at least 8th March. Our local Italian restaurant is doing special takeaways so we will be sharing one of those. They aren’t normally open on a Sunday but as it’s Valentine’s Day they are making an exception. I can’t tell you how much I’m looking forward to it! 🙂 Wishing you a wonderful week and a very Happy Valentine’s Day.
Cindy Mom, the Lunch Lady says
Thank you April! Many of us here are apprehensive that the stay at home order will soon be lifted. Our town has been hit with a variant of the virus and it devastated a long term care home. They sent our kids back to school this week, but many parents are stressed and worried. Mine have been doing school at home, as I am part of the vulnerable population.
Take away sounds delightful and like a wonderful way to celebrate. Stay well and enjoy the day with your husband!
