Welcome to the March 2023 Edition of The Hearth and Soul Link Party. Here in the UK, the spring bulbs and bluebell foliage are persisting against the chilly weather, bravely peeking their heads above the ground. Spring is in the air, even if it is a bit on the cool side! How are things going where you are?
The Hearth and Soul Link Party welcomes family-friendly blog posts about anything that feeds the soul. Things that feed the soul may include (but are not limited to) recipes, decorating, crafts, family, home, DIY, organization, travel, book reviews, the arts and self improvement.
The Latest – March 2023 Edition
We have just finished renovating the main bathroom in our house, the first in series of renovations we are undertaking this year. I’m so pleased with how it all looks and I’m looking forward to sharing photos of the renovation soon.
We now have a welcome few weeks break before we carry on with other areas of the house. I am looking forward to another photo shoot with the lovely Terry Joshi later this month while things are quiet, so I will have lots of new content to share with you during our renovations.
We are in the beautiful city of Ely this weekend visiting our son and his partner for an early celebration of my husband’s Guy’s birthday and our anniversary next week. I’m so grateful to have some time all together in this beautiful part of the UK.
New on the Blog
I am participating in a Random Acts of Kindness Challenge to mark Lent this year, so I shared 40 different ideas for random acts of kindness on the blog if you would like to join me.
There’s a delicious new recipe for Maple Gingerbread which takes less than half an hour to make and bake.
Plus, there are Things To Do In Edinburgh, the inside scoop on our latest visit to this wonderful city. Included are all my favourite things to do, the best places to eat, and more!

Have a fabulous month!

I love learning about new cities and towns through you. Ely looks like a really wonderful place to visit. How nice that Tom’s Cakes has gluten-free options!
Jean’s heart-shaped filled tarts look splendid. 🙂
I bet your Maple Gingerbread is another recipe that could easily be converted to gluten free. I love all the flavors!
I’ve linked up a roundup of gluten-free Purim recipes as it will be here tomorrow at sundown and my latest volcano pancake creation, blueberry this time. Yum!
Have a wonderful week, April! Thanks for hosting as always!

Hi April,
I’ve just discovered this wonderful link up here. I love your website! And those flowers are just so beautiful & colourful.
You’re most welcome to join me in a cuppa at Tea With Jennifer,
Jennifer
Thank you so much, Jennifer! I look forward to visiting 🙂
April I really appreciate the feature of my post on the restored Hacienda Hotel. I’ve watched this place since I bought my house over 12 years ago. I was so sad every time I passed the boarded up old hotel when I first moved here. I tried to keep up with the actions by the City to find someone to restore it and make it a key part of the City again. Now it’s like a dream come true.
It’s a pleasure, Carol! I am even happier to have featured it having read this comment. It is so rewarding when we are passionate about preserving history and actually see our hopes come to fruition. I am really pleased it happened for you – and for the Hacienda Hotel! Thank you so much for all your support of Hearth and Soul and the Hearth and Soul Community.
Thank you for a feature on March’s Hearth and Soul, April! Happy month of March. Spring is in the air.
It’s a pleasure, Pat! Spring really is in the air and I’m feeling very excited about it 🙂
Thank you, April, for hosting such a visually stunning party! I appreciate the love shown to fun facts about dandelions in this month’s addition! Enjoy those flowers 😍
Thank you so much for the lovely compliment, Suzan! I appreciate your support of Hearth and Soul 🙂
Thanks for hosting again this month, April. I love seeing the beautiful spring flowers in your featured image. I think we are all yearning for spring to be here in full bloom!
Thank you for your support of Hearth and Soul, Donna. I love the flowers in this photograph as well. This photograph was taken slightly later in March last year but we do have some beautiful flowers coming through at the moment. I have snowdrops, hellebore, daffodils, iris, crocus and a single hyacinth in bloom in my garden 🙂
Thank you so much for featuring my spring flower crafts xxx
It’s a pleasure, Natasha!
Hi April! We’ve had a cold winter, even in Phoenix, so I am so happy for Spring to be getting here. Thank you for hosting again. I’ll be checking out your Random Acts of Kindness Challenge!
Hi Helen! We have had some short-lived snow the last couple days but the spring flowers are still bravely pushing their way through the soil. Thank you so much for being a part of Hearth and Soul.

Ely looks like such a nice place to visit. I am making a note of it. Your son and his partner are so lucky to be living there!
They really do enjoy living in Ely, Catherine. There is a lovely community feel to the city. I hope you will be able to visit when you are next in the UK.
