Hello and welcome to the November edition of the Hearth and Soul Link Party! How are you doing? I hope you had a wonderful October! We had a busy but fun month, with a lovely holiday in the New Forest near the sea and three visits to London. Work has been busy for both my husband and I, but it has been nice to have the little treats in between.
The Hearth and Soul Link Party welcomes family-friendly blog posts about anything to feed the soul. Things that feed the soul may include (but are not limited to) recipes, decorating, crafts, family, home, DIY, organization, travel, book reviews, the arts and self improvement.
The party is now held monthly, opening on the first Sunday of every month. It will remain open until the 20th of each month or until 300 entries are reached, whichever happens first. Please continue to visit and share while the linky is open. I will continue to do the same, visiting and sharing your content across my social media platforms.
Next month’s party will open on Sunday 5th December and remain open until December 20th, or until 300 entries are reached.

What’s Been Happening?
I’ve been enjoying our time at home and away. It’s an incredibly creative time for me, with lots of work going on with the blog and other projects, as well as on my first cookbook manuscript.
For those of you who have kindly asked, I have yet to submit my book proposal to an agent. The goal for the proposal is early 2022, but work is well underway. Thank you all for your encouragement and support.
I have so much to share with you in the upcoming months, including new recipes and lots of new lifestyle posts. If you are an Anglophile, you will love some of my upcoming travel posts as well! In the meantime, if you would like to keep up with my adventures in real time, please do follow me on Instagram.
We enjoyed celebrating Canadian Thanksgiving in October with our son and his partner and we are all are looking forward to celebrating American Thanksgiving later this month at our friends’ house. I always enjoy making pumpkin pie for these occasions, but I like to make this recipe as well.
Spicy Pumpkin Bundt Cake has all the flavours of fall. Warming ginger, sweet cinnamon, pungent cloves and aromatic nutmeg combine to make it taste oh so good. If you love fall spices, this is the cake for you!
I also shared a recipe inspired by our pre-Covid travels.
Find our more about our visit to the Robert Mondavi Winery a few years ago, and get the recipe for these irresistible Red Wine Brownies in one of my latest posts.
Thank you all for sharing your wonderful content!

Having two celebrations for giving thanks sounds like fun! Although I wouldn’t be up for all that cooking, lol. I’d love for you to post your pumpkin pie recipe — that and homemade cranberry sauce are my must-haves each year for Thanksgiving.
April Harris says
Luckily I only do the cooking once for Canadian Thanksgiving, Sandra! I just bring the desserts to my friends’ Thanksgiving in November 🙂 I must get round to posting my pumpkin pie recipe. I am not sure why I haven’t done it before!

Congrats on your cookbook progress, April! I love the photo you shared of you working/posing at your laptop! 🙂
i’m intrigued by those deviled eggs. If there’s one thing, I’ve learned, it’s that there are no limits to people’s creativity when it comes to deviled eggs! LOL
This time I’m linking up gluten-free Caramel Squares and the recipe they led to almost immediately, gluten-free Caramel Apple Squares. Both are easy to make and super delicious!
Oh, and good for you on celebrating two Thanksgivings! I’m all for that as Thanksgiving is my fave. 😉 We’re looking forward to ours coming up. There will only be five of us but it will still be a special gathering!

I do love my room full of books 🙂 We made one of the upstairs rooms into a library and it’s one of my favourite places in the whole house.
I hope you have a good week too! xo

April, thank you for hosting. I’m at #70. So looking forward to your travel posts, since I won’t be traveling to Britain any time soon. I will live vicariously through you! 😀
April Harris says
It’s a pleasure, Jean! Thank you so much for visiting and sharing, and for your support!
I must get to work on my travel posts. One upside of the travel restrictions over the last months has been the number of lovely places I have been able to visit in England. There were a number of places literally on my doorstep I had no idea existed. In fact, I just discovered another one yesterday! 🙂
