It’s almost time for St Patricks Day – and I’ve got St Patrick’s Day ideas in our features to inspire you! Welcome to the Hearth and Soul Link Party!
At Hearth and Soul, blog posts old and new, about anything that feeds the soul, are welcome. This includes – but is not limited to – family, home, recipes, decorating, crafts, DIY, travel, organisation, book reviews, the arts and self improvement.
Thank you for your patience with my struggle to comment on some of your blogs while I have been travelling. Google doesn’t make things easy for me when my location changes so often. I have still been pinning and sharing your blog posts, to help you expand your reach and your following.
This past weekend my husband and I were in San Francisco celebrating our anniversary and my husband’s birthday. We were married on my husband’s birthday 28 years ago, and we will soon be celebrating the 30th anniversary of the evening we met!
Here we are after lunch at Sears Fine Food, a San Francisco restaurant that has been open since 1938. We eat at least one lunch there on nearly every visit to San Francisco – it’s our tradition!
What’s Been Happening on The Blog
I’ve got a delicious St Patrick’s Day treat for you!
My Chocolate Mint Brownies are a real tradition in our house on St Patrick’s Day. I also share a bit about my brave Irish Grandmother in this blog post, as well as something she and I have in common.
If you love all thing’s Irish, you may want to read about my experiences at Blarney Castle. Yes, I kissed the Blarney Stone (in fact I’ve done it more than once!).
Or take a virtual visit to Kinsale, a beautiful Irish seaside town.

Hi April,
It is so very special to me that you are featuring my Grandma’s Dublin Coddle, it really means a lot to me and thank you so much! Looks like you are having so much fun here in the states. Hope you have a great St. Patrick’s Day and thanks so much for the party!
Miz Helen
I’m so glad you are pleased, Miz Helen. Thank you for sharing your treasured family recipe!
Your chocolate mint brownies look so moist and delicious! I’ve also kissed the Blarney Stone a few times. One of my sisters-in-law grew up not far from Blarney Castle and we have visited her town quite a few times, Kissing the stone is a fun experience!
Thank you, Pat! And that’s so cool! I’m wondering if your sister in law grew up in Cork? It certainly is a lovely part of Ireland!
This week I am sharing Bacon Wrapped Scallops, Loaded Baked Potato Soup and Pork Chops in a Creamy Mushroom Sauce. Have a lovely evening! Thanks for hosting.

Thank you so much, Patrick. They really are delicious! I’m sorry I’m having trouble commenting on blog posts at the moment. I appreciate you sharing your wonderful photos!
Hi April, I grew up just a few hours south of San Francisco and have been there many times. Although, we’ve been back recently and I don’t enjoy it as much as I once did. I’m getting old I guess and miss the old days, ha ha! My daughter lives in the bay area and it is very beautiful there. Thanks for hosting the party, I always love it!
Hi Helen, I’ve noticed parts of San Francisco have changed since I started visiting regularly 10 years ago too. I do love the Bay Area though! Thank you so much for supporting the party. I hope you are having a lovely week!
St. Patrick’s Day is such a fun holiday!
It really is, Michele! I have such fond memories of celebrating it with my parents when I was a child. The ‘leprechauns’ used to bring me little presents and sweets!
Thank you so much for hosting another party. I brought a cake with Thai Mango. Have a great week ahead.
