Hello and welcome to The Hearth and Soul Link Party! This week, it’s all about staying cozy. Most of us in the northern hemisphere are experiencing some very chilly temperatures and this is definitely the time of year for home comforts.
Whether your blog posts are old or new, as long as they are about things that feed the soul, they are welcome here at The Hearth and Soul Link Party! Things that feed the soul may include (but are not limited to) recipes, decorating, crafts, family, home, DIY, organization, travel, book reviews, the arts and self improvement.
What’s New
It was a busy week last week with a Trends 2020 event up in London and a networking event with the Gossip Girl Gang talking goal setting closer to home.
Here I am (on the right) checking out the latest trends in sunglasses at Selfridges. I’m with my friend and stylist Sarah van Dort (left) of Absolutely Fabulous Image before we attended a talk at the Brasserie of Light on 2020 Trends in fashion, life and style. I was very tempted by these seriously fun sunglasses by Miu Miu, but I’m not sure they could make them in my prescription lenses!
My husband and I also managed to meet our son in London for dinner one night at one of my favourite London restaurants, Le Caprice, which was wonderful as always. Sadly his partner was working so she couldn’t join us, but it was lovely to get together.
This week I’m closer to home as the gates to our property are being redone. We’ve had the original ones for over 12 years so I’m excited for a fresh new look.
On the blog, I’m featuring comfort food as well as a travel post about one of England’s most famous landmarks.
My Quick and Easy Beef Stroganoff is a recipe I make all the time. It’s comfort food that is perfect for busy nights, entertaining or when you fancy a treat on a quiet night in.
If you are planning a visit to London, don’t miss Making The Most of Your Visit To Buckingham Palace, newly updated with the latest information for 2020.
Thank you so much to you all for visiting and sharing!

I’m all about cozy! The sunglasses make me think of John and Yoko. 🙂
I’ve linked up my belated summary of the Top 10 gluten-free recipes (and 10 honorable mentions) on gfe last year and gluten-free cream cheese cut-out cookies (a classic that bears repeating/making each year and is perfect for Valentine’s Day when you use your heart cookie cutter).
Thanks for hosting, April! Stay cozy!
Shirley
John and Yoko did cross my mind as well, Shirley. There were a lot of very round glasses at Selfridges as well 🙂 I look forward to your posts. It will be interesting to see which of your recipes were the most popular – and your cookies sound fantastic. I do love a cookie tradition 🙂 I hope you stay cozy too, Shirley, and that your week goes well.
I like the fun sunglasses and matching smiles!
Thank you, Shiju!
We are watching The Crown on Netflix, and I always enjoy the shots outside Buckingham Palace.
