Hello and welcome to a summer break at the Hearth and Soul Link Party! There are lots of ideas and inspiration for summer breaks, and to help you make the most of the last weeks of summer.
The Hearth and Soul Link Party welcomes blog posts about anything that feeds the soul. Things that feed the soul may include (but are not limited to) recipes, decorating, crafts, family, home, DIY, organization, travel, book reviews, the arts and self improvement.

Summer Break at The Hearth and Soul Link Party
This week’s Hearth and Soul Link Party will stay open for two weeks until Friday 28th August.
The next Hearth and Soul Link Party will open on Sunday 30th August.
I’ll still be sharing your posts and staying active on social media throughout this time, but this little hiatus for Hearth and Soul will enable me to catch up a little on some new projects and spend some extra time with my family before the September rush begins!
What’s Been Happening?
My husband and I went out to our favourite local restaurant for dinner last week.
We had a wonderful evening at Nino’s Trattoria. The team have taken great care to make everything safe, and we felt really relaxed. The food was as amazing as always.
We are looking forward to going a little further afield in the next few weeks. Baby steps! Of course we are watching Covid-19 case numbers, which thankfully are still quite low here and in the places we are going. Our county only had 2 cases last week. I hope numbers are heading downwards where you are as well.
New Recipe Alert!
Not too sweet and chock full of goodness, my Carrot and Orange Oat Bran Muffin recipe makes a deliciously wholesome start to the day.
Thank you all for sharing your blog posts!
Summer Break Featured Posts
This week’s featured posts include (from top left, clockwise):-
Take a summer break and do some armchair travelling with the beautiful photographs in Following the Truckee River by Patrick of Adventures in Weseland.
Enjoy Dining Alfresco with inspiration from Penny of Penny’s Vintage Treasures in Dining Alfresco – 5 of My Favorite Tablescapes.
Put you feet up and enjoy summer break with 15 Favorite Audiobooks & What To Read Next from Kristin of White Arrows Home.
In A Vegan Sephardic Shabbat Dinner, Judee of Gluten Free A – Z shares wonderful family recipes and food history, as well as her husband’s family’s first hand experience as refugees fleeing Egypt in the 1960’s. I found her account of how her husband and his family built their lives in the United States both humbling and inspiring.

Feel sorry for dine-in restaurants, they have had low business for 3-4 months and now they are spending extra to revamp and covid-protect their place. So glad you enjoyed your meal.
I’ve never seen a printed baking tray. The muffins look delish !!! Fabulous.
Thank you for hosting the party, April.

I agree, Naush. I know our local restaurant team spent so much time doing research and went to great expense to make everything safe and welcoming, and there are so many others like them! I found the printed baking tray in Williams Sonoma on a visit to California and couldn’t’ resist! I’m glad you like the look of the muffins. Thank you!
