Have you got visitors coming for Thanksgiving this year? I’m thinking a lot about Thanksgiving entertaining and the start of holiday parties this week, so I’m featuring posts to inspire you at this week’s Hearth and Soul Link Party. Welcome! I’m so glad you are here!
At the Hearth and Soul Link Party, you can share blog posts old and new, about anything that feeds the soul. This includes – but is not limited to – family, home, recipes, decorating, crafts, DIY, travel, organisation, book reviews, the arts and self improvement.
How are things in your corner of the world? We managed to fit in a visit to our son and his partner in East Anglia this week. It was lovely to spend some time together.
What’s Been Happening?
This week on the blog I shared one of my favourite easy cake recipes.
This Old Fashioned Banana Cake is the work of moments and everyone always loves it! I love how easy it is to decorate as well. It’s a great cake to have on hand for Thanksgiving entertaining.
As most of you probably know, we don’t have a Thanksgiving Day in the UK.
There’s a lot of debate over the idea of a Thanksgiving holiday here, and in Why We All Need Thanksgiving I’m sharing why I think it’s a tradition we all need to adopt.
Speaking of being thankful, I’m so grateful to you all for your ongoing support of the Hearth and Soul Link Party!

I hope you have a great week too, Kippi!
Thanks for hosting! We don’t do Thanksgiving here in the UK so it’s all Christmas prep here. I’m kind of glad as I’m not sure how you fit it in! Having said that any chance to get together with family is a lovely thing and we still do that often 🙂
I’m actually UK based as well (Berkshire) – that’s why I wrote the Why We Need Thanksgiving post 😉 I’d love it if we had it here – perhaps in October. It’s easier with Canadian Thanksgiving as it’s in October instead of November like the US. We celebrate both here – Canadian Thanksgiving at our house as I’m a British Canadian, and American Thanksgiving at our American friend and her family’s home. As you say, it’s definitely important to get together often with family and friends 🙂 Thank you for visiting and sharing!
Thank you so much for the great party!
Have a great time
many greetins

Thank you for visiting and sharing, Uwe!
I love banana cake! Yours looks delicious! Thanksgiving is a lovely holiday. In America, I wish it wasn’t so close to Christmas. It can make for a frenzied holiday season. I’d prefer to celebrate it earlier as the Canadians do. Thanks for hosting, April!

Thank you so much, Michelle! I like our October Thanksgiving too. It spaces things out a bit! But I enjoy celebrating US Thanksgiving at our friends’ house 😉 Thank you for visiting and sharing!
Thank you for hosting, April! It’s good to be back with you. In October, I experienced a terrifying eye emergency which caused me to take the entire month off from responsibilities, including blogging. Thankfully, my doctor released me last week until next November! I hope you have an amazing week!
Oh Emily, how frightening! I am glad you are better now. Anything to do with eyes is so very terrifying! Take care, and it’s lovely to have you back x
It is always wonderful to keep gratitude and thanfullness in our hearts all year long.
Hi April,
