Alea of Premeditated Leftovers and I want to welcome you to our weekend blog hop, The Gallery of Favorites, a place to share favorite posts on absolutely any subject from your own blogs. Seasonal, craft and tutorial projects are very welcome too.
Thank you to everyone who visited and who shared posts last week. This week we are featuring two custard pie recipes. Custard Pie is so popular in England that you can find it at almost every self respecting cake shop and bakery, but there is nothing better than homemade. Original recipes for this dish date back to Medieval times when custard pies contained meat as well as sweet custard. I definitely prefer the modern version, and these two look especially good.

Kristi of Veggie Converter made her Custard Pie after discovering at a buffet that her kids absolutely loved this classic treat. As she says, “The filling is crazy fast to throw together and mildly flavored with cinnamon and nutmeg. Yum.” I couldn’t agree more!

Debbie at Dining with Debbie shares her memories of making her Traditional Egg Custard Pie from a very young age. Debbie explains, “This is the version I have used more times than I can count for the past 43 years. It is adapted from a Better Homes and Gardens cookbook that we received as a wedding gift. I’ve tried other variations, but I always come back to this one.”
Although Alea and I both spend a lot of our time writing about food, we also have many other interests and we know that our readers do as well. The Gallery of Favorites is a place for all bloggers to share any and all of their ideas, interests and passions.
