Welcome to The Hearth and Soul Hop, a blog hop for recipes using healthy ingredients, family and comfort food recipes, articles about healthy living, real, local and sustainable food, foraging, herbal remedies, organics and gardening. As much as possible, recipes should be homemade from scratch.
It’s National Vegetarian Week in the UK this week. The Vegetarian Society is encouraging everyone to give up meat for just one week. I think that is a great idea but if you find the idea of a whole week too daunting, try simply replacing one main meal with a vegetarian alternative. Once you see how easy it is to be an Occasional Vegetarian, you will find yourself looking for ways to incorporate more vegetarian meals in your family’s diet. I know I have!
I’ve chosen some delicious vegetarian recipes shared with the hop last week to feature today.
Blackberry Endive Appetizer from Simple Living and Eating
Mediterranean Dip from Gluten Free SCD and Veggie
Applesauce Sweet and Sour Lentils from Poor and Gluten Free
Sriracha Eggplant and Tofu from Home Cook Food
Kale with Goji Berries from Teczcape
and for dessert
Chocolate Beetroot Cake from Couscous and Consciousness
