I first noticed What I Wore Wednesday first on Nicole Feliciano’s wonderful Momtrendswebsite. A bit of research showed that a lot of bloggers have been writing What I Wore Wednesday posts for some time now, and it really looked like fun, so here goes!

I was headed back ‘home’ to Derbyshire and Staffordshire today, where we lived very happily for over ten years, and where our son spent a lot of his formative years. It was a real trip back in time, with my eighteen year old son attending a Grade Six reunion of the very small independent primary school he used to attend in Repton. While he was catching up with old friends, I did a lot of exploring and enjoyed visiting lots of our old haunts, as well as some old friends. I wanted to look smart, but casual, and also be ready for whatever the British weather was planning to throw at us (sun, heat, rain and cold wind, all at different times during the same day, as it happened!)

My son very kindly took the above pictures for me, and I included these because a) I like them and b) they show the ruffled sleeves on the blouse, which is by Coast, from their last summer’s collection. It’s so versatile, I can dress it up with a skirt or dress trousers or down with jeans as I did today. My white jacket is from the Lauren by Ralph Lauren ready to wear line. It was an investment piece a year or so ago but I wear it so much it’s been great value. The jeans are my beloved Levi’s Curve ID Skinny Jeans (sadly it’s just the jeans that are skinny, not me!) and my open toe wedges are by Onex, an Italian line I’m not familiar with. I bought them at Neimann Marcus on our recent visit to San Francisco. They are SO comfy!  My necklace and earrings are from the Elsa Perretti Open Heart collection forTiffany & Co.

And that, is what I wore this Wednesday!
