Best Barbecue Sauce Recipe

butter

small onion
finely chopped
2
garlic cloves
peeled (or 2 teaspoons Very Lazy Garlic)

cup
ketchup
¼
cup
white wine vinegar
2
tablespoons
lemon juice
1
tablespoon
Worcestershire sauce
2
tablespoons
packed brown sugar
¼
teaspoon
salt
¼
teaspoon
freshly ground pepper
Instructions
Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
Add the onion and cook over low heat until it begins to become translucent (about 5 minutes).
Grate in the garlic (or add the Very Lazy Garlic).
Cook for a minute.
Stir in the ketchup, vinegar, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, salt and pepper.
Bring to a boil, stirring almost constantly.
Turn the heat down to low and simmer for ten minutes.
Use immediately or remove from the pan, cool quickly and store covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
