Make yourself a hot drink and get comfy, it’s time once again for The Hearth and Soul Link Party! This week I’m featuring fall decor and more.
Whether you’ve been a part of Hearth and Soul for years or this is your very first visit, you are very welcome here! I’m proud of the community we are creating here, and very grateful to you all for being a part of it.
Blog posts old and new, about anything that feeds the soul, are welcome here at Hearth and Soul. This includes – but is not limited to – family, home, recipes, decorating, crafts, DIY, travel, organisation, book reviews, the arts and self improvement.
How’s Your October Going?
It’s hard to believe we are half way through October, but on the plus side it means we are heading towards Halloween, Thanksgiving and the holidays! Children in the UK are looking forward to their ‘half term’, a week break in the middle of term to help tide them over until the Christmas break.
My husband and I are enjoying catching up with friends and family before the rush of the holiday season begins. It’s taken us to Burton-on-Trent, Derby and Cambridge this past weekend which has been a lot of fun.
Celebrating Canadian Thanksgiving has got me very excited about fall flavours and fall baking.
My Cranberry Orange and Ginger Loaf Cake is one of my favourites, and it only takes a fancy loaf pan to make it even more special! Warmly spiced and studded with cranberries, this is a cut and come again bake that everyone will love.
It’s such a busy time now, I’m all about quick and easy suppers too.
If you love a good stir fry, you will love my Easy Beef and Vegetable Stir Fry Recipe with a Sweet and Spicy Sauce. Wholesome ingredients, richly but mildly spiced, make for a meal the whole family can enjoy. It’s likely you have all the ingredients to make it on hand as well!
Fall Decor and More Features
My Fall Decor and More features include (from top left, clockwise) :-
Andrea of La Sacré Coeur shared an easy, long lasting Autumn Wreath How To. I love the vibrant faux sunflowers!
Lisa of Fresh Vintage By Lisa has a great idea for fall decor – fun Recycled Tin Can Candy Holders. Lisa has provided a free printable to help you make them too.
No matter how small your porch is (or even if you don’t really have one, like me!), these Beautiful Small Porch Decorating Ideas For Fall from Michelle at Our Crafty Mom can help make the entrance to your home look festive and seasonal.
I love the spirit behind this easy, thoughtful Thankful Pumpkin Decoration from Linda at Burlap & Blue. It’s an easy to make, interactive fall or Thanksgiving decoration with heart!

That special loaf pan really does make your Cranberry, Orange, and Ginger Loaf look sensational! Plus it gives those much appreciated nooks and crannies for “accessorizing” your loaf!
The Thankful pumpkin is a sweet idea.
This week I’ve linked up my Easy Crustless Pecan Pie, which is naturally gluten free (always my favorite way to eat gluten free), because readers are looking at that recipe right now in anticipation of Thanksgiving I guess. I’ve also linked up 25 Last-Minute Gluten-Free Halloween Treats because we still have Halloween to celebrate before Thanksgiving!
Thanks for hosting, April. Hope you have a lovely week!
