Blue Monday? Not here! It’s time once again for the Hearth and Soul Link Party and it’s all about Great Things to Do in January. Welcome!
Blog posts old and new, about anything that feeds the soul, are welcome here at the Hearth and Soul Link Party. This includes – but is not limited to – family, home, recipes, decorating, crafts, DIY, travel, organisation, book reviews, the arts and self improvement.
The month certainly seems to be flying by, and there’s definitely no shortage of great things to do in January to keep things interesting. If you are enjoying spending time in the kitchen this month, do give this seasonal recipe a try!
This pretty Chocolate Orange Marble Cake Recipe uses seasonal blood oranges (although it works very well with ordinary oranges as well). My step by step instructions make it easy!
If you looking for something a bit healthier, don’t miss my latest vegetarian recipe (it can be vegan too)!
My Easy Vegetable and Cashew Stir Fry takes make your own take out to a whole new level. The delicious homemade sauce (using store cupboard ingredients) makes for an extra delicious – and extra healthy – dish.

that marble cake looks so decadent, I wonder if i can make it glutenfree.
Thank you! I have not made this recipe with gluten free flour but I am sure it would work. I have had good luck with Bob’s Red Mill gluten free flour in the past.
Hi April,
I would enjoy a nice slice of your chocolate marble cake, it looks delicious! I am sharing my weekly meal plan, a ham and sweet pepper quiche and a delicious crock pot buttermilk chicken. Hope you are staying warm and cozy, we are having some serious cold weather, even our little Max has to have his coat for outdoors. Thanks so much for the party and have a good week.
