Hello December at The Hearth and Soul Link Party - join us to be inspired, and to share blog posts about anything that feeds the soul

The Hearth and Soul Link Party where we welcome posts about anything to feed the soul
Hello December and hello to you! Welcome to this week’s Hearth and Soul Link Party. Are you getting excited for the season? I sure am!

Blog posts old and new, about anything that feeds the soul, are welcome here at Hearth and Soul.  This includes – but is not limited to – family, home, recipes, decorating, crafts, DIY, travel, organisation, book reviews, the arts and self improvement.

I hope you will forgive this deviation from the norm – I’m publishing Hearth and Soul very early this week (18 hours early!) because I’m heading up to London on a Christmas adventure early on Monday. I’m sure there will be lots of photos to share on Instagram and Facebook!

Last week I was excited to partner with Hello Fresh and share a healthy recipe that’s perfect for days when you need a little break from all the festive food.

Hot and sweet Cajun spices bring a delicious warmth to this Hello Fresh Cajun Cod recipe made with Cajun spiced cod and hearty roast sweet potatoes, fresh rocket, tomatoes and a cooling crema that is the prefect foil to the sweet heat. I love it when delicious is quick, easy and healthy too! Photo credit Hello Fresh

Full of flavour and nutrition, this Cajun Cod Recipe comes together in under 40 minutes.

There are still plenty of Christmas treats to come though! I’m easing into the season with a cup of tea and a couple of these yummy cookies.

Lemon Ginger Crinkle Cookies

My Old Fashioned Lemon Ginger Crinkle Cookies are light, gently spiced and perfect for nibbling.

Thank you to everyone who visited and shared last week!

Hello December Features at Hearth and Soul

Hello December features (from top left, clockwise):-

I love the idea of filling the pockets of this DIY Large Easy Sew Advent Calendar from Dazzle While Frazzled with little Advent gifts! What a thoughtful way to celebrate Advent!

There are so many occasions when this Cranberry Turkey Ring from Miz Helen’s Country Cottage would be delight your guests, and I love how easy it is to make!

This Cranberry Walnut Bacon Stuffed Pork Roll from The Mighty Mrs is perfect for any celebration or for a seasonal dinner party with friends.

I’ve nearly finished my Christmas shopping and I’m excited by these frugal, sustainable Recycled Gift Wrapping Ideas from Sum of Their Stories.

Instagram post 2196647699462172646_179821897 🎄Have you finished your Christmas decorating? 🎄Or is it still a work in progress?I’m taking my time this year, and it has been such fun! My Christmas tree went up very early, but the rest of the decorations have been evolving over the past few weeks.
I think removing the pressure to get everything up and ready in just one day has really enhanced my enjoyment of the festive season.
What about you - are you a get it all done kind of person, or does your holiday decor evolve over the weeks before the big day?#apriljharris #the21stcenturyhousewife #holidaydecor #mystylephotochallenge #red #littlestoriesofmylife #decoratingstyle #shinyhappybloggers #christmastree #christmasdecor #gettingreadyforchristmas #holidayseason
Instagram post 2196024479264347171_179821897 🌟 Sparkle and shine 🌟My talented friend @slkw73 put together this sweet frugal coffee table decoration for me. We used a glass dish that belonged to my late Mom via my late Grandma. The string of pine cones with tiny lights (that don't show up in the photo!) was purchased from @greenparlour and the pretty berry garland from @kikiandbow. Love being able to use vintage sentimental treasures like this!

Instagram post 2194404729956828073_179821897 🌟The 80/20 Rule 🌟Do you follow this simple rule? Eighty percent of the time I eat healthily, exercise and do all the healthy things. Twenty percent of the time I let myself go a little. So this morning we wrapped up warm and got out for a brisk walk (before the rain!) to make up for a tiny bit of over-indulgence celebrating with friends last night. Okay...maybe a lot of indulgence...🍾🍷🍷🍷🍾We did skip dessert though! 😉#apriljharris #the21stcenturyhousewife #wrapupwarm #mystylephotochallenge #healthyliving #getoutside #8020rule #healthylifestyle #walking #balancedlife
Instagram post 2193125280088611995_179821897 🌟 Getting in the Christmas Spirit🌟Magical evening in Pangbourne tonight at the Pangbourne Christmas Shopping evening. We started here @kikiandbow for lots of lovely Christmas gifts (and some delicious stollen), went on to @ninos.trattoria for more delicious gifts (and tasty pizza!) and enjoyed so many of the other lovely shops as well. The sausages Green's of Pangbourne were serving were amazing and we really enjoyed the mulled wine at @pangcheeseshop So lucky to live here! Check out my stories for more!
