It’s time for the Hearth and Soul Link Party where we are featuring posts to say Hello March! Welcome!
At Hearth and Soul, blog posts old and new, about anything that feeds the soul, are welcome. This includes – but is not limited to – family, home, recipes, decorating, crafts, DIY, travel, organisation, book reviews, the arts and self improvement.
My husband and I are back in California, and my husband is now is on business until we head home to England next week. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Oahu. What a wonderful place, with gorgeous scenery, amazing food and such lovely people! We hope to return soon, and also to explore more of the Hawaiian Islands.
What’s Happening on The Blog
I’ve got a sweet treat for you this week.
My Triple Ginger Pound Cake has a mellow, sweet spiciness everyone will love. It’s easy to make and keeps really well, so it is perfect to have on hand for unexpected visitors. The recipe makes two loaves so you’ve even got one to share (although you may not want to!).
And with Shrove Tuesday (Pancake Day) coming up this week, it seemed a very good time to post my favourite pancake recipe!
This Easy No-Fail Pancake Recipe is light, fluffy and delicious, perfect for Shrove Tuesday – or any day!
Hello March Features
I’m so grateful to you all for visiting and sharing. Before I highlight this week’s featured posts, I wanted to draw your attention to a post you really should not miss.
In her blog post entitled “Reintegration” Jennifer Lambert shares what can happen in a military family when someone comes home after a deployment. It is a side of this experience I had never thought about before. I see now that my vision of always sweet reunions and happily ever afters that was incredibly naive. I am grateful to Jennifer for sharing so openly and honestly. If you haven’t already, I urge you to read this important piece.
This week’s featured posts include:
(from top left, clockwise)
Thinking of updating your laundry room? Kerri at Mama Dares to DIY has a Farmhouse Laundry Room Makeover that will make you smile!
Get ready for St Patrick’s Day with this delicious Irish Lamb Stew from Kippi at Home.
With de-cluttering on everyone’s minds, Emily at 2 Dishing Divas tackles the issue of Decluttering Sentimental Items, with encouragement to help you select items you love and part with those you have previously felt obliged to keep.
