Hello March! At this week's Hearth & Soul Link Party we are celebrating the March's arrival & sharing inspiration to help you make the most of this month!

The Hearth and Soul Link Party where we welcome posts about anything to feed the soul

It’s time for the Hearth and Soul Link Party where we are featuring posts to say Hello March! Welcome!

At Hearth and Soul, blog posts old and new, about anything that feeds the soul, are welcome.  This includes – but is not limited to – family, home, recipes, decorating, crafts, DIY, travel, organisation, book reviews, the arts and self improvement.

My husband and I are back in California, and my husband is now is on business until we head home to England next week. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Oahu. What a wonderful place, with gorgeous scenery, amazing food and such lovely people! We hope to return soon, and also to explore more of the Hawaiian Islands.

What’s Happening on The Blog

I’ve got a sweet treat for you this week.

With a warming trifecta of dried, ground & crystallised ginger, my Triple Ginger Pound Cake has a deep, rich & mellow flavour that is second to none.

My Triple Ginger Pound Cake has a mellow, sweet spiciness everyone will love. It’s easy to make and keeps really well, so it is perfect to have on hand for unexpected visitors. The recipe makes two loaves so you’ve even got one to share (although you may not want to!).

And with Shrove Tuesday (Pancake Day) coming up this week, it seemed a very good time to post my favourite pancake recipe!

Whether you are making pancakes for Shrove Tuesday or as a treat any day, my all time favourite pancake recipe is light, fluffy and never fails.

This Easy No-Fail Pancake Recipe is light, fluffy and delicious, perfect for Shrove Tuesday – or any day!

Hello March Features

I’m so grateful to you all for visiting and sharing. Before I highlight this week’s featured posts, I wanted to draw your attention to a post you really should not miss.

Featured post at The Hearth and Soul Link Party where this week we are celebrating March's arrival & sharing inspiration to help you make the most of this month!

In her blog post entitled “Reintegration” Jennifer Lambert shares what can happen in a military family when someone comes home after a deployment. It is a side of this experience I had never thought about before. I see now that my vision of always sweet reunions and happily ever afters that was incredibly naive. I am grateful to Jennifer for sharing so openly and honestly. If you haven’t already, I urge you to read this important piece.

This week’s featured posts include:

Get ready for St Patrick’s Day with this delicious Irish Lamb Stew from Kippi at Home.

With de-cluttering on everyone’s minds, Emily at 2 Dishing Divas tackles the issue of Decluttering Sentimental Items, with encouragement to help you select items you love and part with those you have previously felt obliged to keep.

These Fragrant Shallot Cookies from Nancy at On the Home Front are a refreshing twist on sweet shortbread cookies that would be perfect for just about any occasion.

On with the party!

Instagram post 2194404729956828073_179821897 🌟The 80/20 Rule 🌟Do you follow this simple rule? Eighty percent of the time I eat healthily, exercise and do all the healthy things. Twenty percent of the time I let myself go a little. So this morning we wrapped up warm and got out for a brisk walk (before the rain!) to make up for a tiny bit of over-indulgence celebrating with friends last night. Okay...maybe a lot of indulgence...🍾🍷🍷🍷🍾We did skip dessert though! 😉#apriljharris #the21stcenturyhousewife #wrapupwarm #mystylephotochallenge #healthyliving #getoutside #8020rule #healthylifestyle #walking #balancedlife
Instagram post 2193125280088611995_179821897 🌟 Getting in the Christmas Spirit🌟Magical evening in Pangbourne tonight at the Pangbourne Christmas Shopping evening. We started here @kikiandbow for lots of lovely Christmas gifts (and some delicious stollen), went on to @ninos.trattoria for more delicious gifts (and tasty pizza!) and enjoyed so many of the other lovely shops as well. The sausages Green's of Pangbourne were serving were amazing and we really enjoyed the mulled wine at @pangcheeseshop So lucky to live here! Check out my stories for more!
