Hello November! Welcome to the Hearth and Soul Link Party!
Blog posts old and new, about anything that feeds the soul, are welcome here at Hearth and Soul. This includes – but is not limited to – family, home, recipes, decorating, crafts, DIY, travel, organisation, book reviews, the arts and self improvement.
How are things in your corner of the world? I’m in California with my husband at the moment. My husband is working and I’m catching up with friends, blogging and enjoying the sunshine.
Here are some recipes I am loving this time of year!
My late Mom’s Old-Fashioned Oatmeal Raisin Muffins are perfect for fall. They taste like an Oatmeal Raisin Cookie in a nutritious muffin!
My Curried Mango Chicken is an easy, warming meal for cooler fall evenings. You can adjust the spicing to suit your family, and the leftovers make a delicious pizza topping – especially if you use a Nan bread for the pizza base.
Hello November Features
Hello November! There is so much to inspire us as we move through the month. Thank you to everyone who visited and shared last week. This week’s features include (form top left, clockwise):-
Cara from A Purpose Driven Mom has a moving and encouraging piece – An Open Letter to The Mom Who Has Miscarried. If you have experienced a loss yourself, you may find some comfort and help. If you know someone who has lost a baby, Cara’s post will help you to empathise with this profound loss.
If you love family recipes as much as I do, you will enjoy Rachel from Adventures of a DIY Mom’s Raspberry Pie, made using her Grandma’s pie crust recipe. Rachel links to some more of her Grandma’s recipes at the end of the post too.
Commercially prepared spice mixes sometimes lack that certain special something. Helen of 3 Wink’s Design’s Best Taco Seasoning Ever is the homemade answer! It’s a customisable recipe perfect for Taco Tuesday and beyond.
Enjoy a virtual visit to Belgium and Germany with Liz of Howling at The Moon. Whether you are planning an actual trip or enjoying some armchair travel, Liz’s photos are bound to inspire.
A homemade gift is always such a pleasure to receive! Get ahead for Christmas with homemade gifts from Nancy of On The Home Front’s Christmas Countdown. Nancy shares a selection of projects perfect for beginning now.
Right, on with the party!

April,
Thanks so much for featuring my Christmas Countdown post. I may actually be ready for the holidays this year with all the planing I’m doing. Thanks for hosting each week, I’m going to have to try your mom’s oatmeal ban muffins, I’ll bet they’re as good as your bran muffins which has become a favorite of ours!
