November 2022 Edition – The Latest
My husband Guy, our son Alexander, his partner Hannah and I have just returned from our first visit to Canada since the lockdowns began. It was so lovely to finally be able to go back again.
I shared some of our adventures on Instagram, and will be continuing to share there and of course here on the blog over the coming weeks. Here we are at Niagara Falls on a gorgeous, sunny day. We were so lucky with the weather!
On the blog, it’s beginning to feel a bit like Christmas, but of course there are lots of other things on offer as well. If you are feeling ready to start getting ahead for the holiday season as well, I have a new resource for you.
I have created a Christmas Recipes and Ideas post with links to all my seasonal content. Just click on the links in the post to go straight to whatever you are looking for. I will be adding new content regularly, so watch this space!
Speaking of Christmas, are you planning to make a homemade Christmas cake this year? If so, now is the perfect time!
Making your Christmas cake soon means you can “feed” it with your favourite tipple (a tablespoon or so of brandy, sherry or rum) every couple of weeks, so that the cake can mellow and age perfectly in time for the holiday season.
Why not try my family’s delicious traditional British recipe for Old Fashioned Christmas Cake (pictured above)? If you need a gluten-free option, I have you covered with my Gluten-Free Old Fashioned Christmas Cake. Even people who don’t like fruit cake like it!

Hi April. I went to Niagara Falls as a child and have a photo of me going over the falls in a barrel. All the kids at school thought I really went over the falls when I showed them the pic 🙂 Thanks so much for hosting. I linked up with #8 Advice from a Pumpkin and #9 Christmas Gnome Giveaway.

Thanks so much for featuring my Italian Lemon Ricotta Cake! I’ve made it a couple of times now, once for my best friend’s birthday, and it rapidly disappears so my Mom still hasn’t gotten any. LOL Soon, I hope!
I’ve checked out the features and am now working my way through what folks have added today!
Have a fabulous week!
