Hello and welcome to the November 2023 Edition of The Hearth and Soul Link Party! As you may already know, autumn is one of my very favourite seasons. I’m privileged to have spent a few weeks in Ontario, Canada this autumn and the coloured leaves set the countryside ablaze with colour. It makes me think of Emily Dickinson’s words “Every leaf speaks bliss to me, fluttering from the autumn tree”.
The Hearth and Soul Link Party welcomes family-friendly blog posts about anything that feeds the soul. Things that feed the soul may include (but are not limited to) recipes, decorating, crafts, family, home, DIY, organization, travel, book reviews, the arts, and self improvement.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone who is celebrating this month!
Although there are still a lot of works ongoing at our house, our kitchen and utility room renovation is finished!
This photo shows the work area in the new kitchen. I shared more photographs in my most recent newsletter, a new kitchen reveal reel and a utility room before and after reel on Instagram.
One of the nicest things that happened in October was a surprise Canadian Thanksgiving dinner cooked by our son. We were moving some of our furniture up to the home he shares with his partner and felt that the day would be too busy to enjoy a home cooked meal. We had planned a pub lunch but he surprised us with a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. We even made pumpkin pie together. I was one happy mama!!

What a beautiful photo of you, April! And I know you’re so thrilled to have your kitchen (and utility room) complete. Just in time for serious holiday baking!
How wonderful that you got to spend Canadian Thanksgiving with your family and that your son surprised you will the full meal! Making pumpkin pie together had to be the best. 🙂
Because so many have Christmas on their minds, I’ve linked up my updated version of 30 Christmas Cookies You’ll Want To Make Right Now. I’ve also shared my collection of gluten-free oat-free “oatmeal” recipes for folks who can’t do oats, which includes oatmeal/porridge recipes as well as “oatmeal” cookies and bars. It’s nice to still get that comfort food factor and texture of oatmeal!
