A stay at The Ritz is such a treat! While it may be a stretch to define it as affordable luxury, it’s definitely worth saving your pennies for. Once you arrive at this luxurious property, you may never want to leave.
Here are some great ways to make the most of your stay.
Enjoy your comfortable, elegant room at The Ritz
The luxurious rooms incorporate modern conveniences without losing their gorgeous vintage appeal.
Although I love a suite – and there is nothing like a suite at The Ritz – a Superior Queen room is very luxurious. In my experience, they are generally very competitively priced for a central London hotel.
Relax in The Ritz lobby and lounge areas
The beautiful lounge areas manage to balance opulent and comfortable in the best way possible, making them a great place to while away an hour or so. Join friends for a cup of tea or just cosy up with a book.
Enjoy afternoon tea in The Palm Court Restaurant
There is nothing like the experience of afternoon tea in The Palm Court. With live music from the grand piano, tea trays that seem to magically refill, and elegant yet unpretentious service, this is one of the best afternoon teas in London.
If you have dinner plans, you can simply ask for a tea tray to be sent to your room. With your choice of tea and a side of homemade biscuits, this is the perfect way to settle in once you’ve arrived.
Visit The Ritz Salon
Spend some time in The Ritz Salon. Offering a full range of salon services, as well as indulgent spa treatments, The Ritz offers the perfect urban spa break.
Dine in The Ritz Restaurant
The dining room at The Ritz has been described as one of the most beautiful in the world and the restaurant has a Michelin Star. I have yet to eat dinner here, but I have enjoyed many wonderful breakfasts in these beautiful surroundings.
Enjoy a Cocktail in The Rivoli Bar
The beautiful, elegant Rivoli Bar is the perfect place to relax. Gorgeous Art Deco surroundings make it feel like you are stepping back in time. For the ultimate cocktail experience, try my favourite cocktail,The Ritz 110. Gold infused Absolut Elyx Vodka is combined with Grand Mariner and Peach Liquor and then topped off with champagne. When the cocktail is served, the bartender drops a small cube of sugar into the drink, making the edible gold leaf in the drink ‘dance’.
One of my absolute favourite London hotels, every stay at The Ritz seems even better than the last. It’s a not to be missed experience you will remember long after you’ve returned home.

I visited the Ritz only once, many years ago, for afternoon tea. I think it was the first time I ever had a formal English tea and, roughly thirty years later, I’m still hooked. Something tells me the price may have gone up a bit since then, though!

It has gone up a bit, Pauline, but it’s definitely worth the splurge 😉 I love afternoon tea too, and The Ritz is definitely one of my favourite places to enjoy it 🙂
