UPDATED SEPTEMBER 2025
I love using apples, particularly in the autumn when they are in season. I grate apples into porridge, chop them to make Waldorf Salad, stew them in my Crockpot Apple and Pear Sauce, and serve them in main courses like my Warm Wild Rice Salad with Sausage and Apple.
But my favourite thing to do with apples is to bake with them. And while I would never suggest that baked goods are something we should enjoy every day, apples are good for you too, whether you eat them crunchy and fresh or use them for cooking and baking. Rich in polyphenols, apples may help protect against heart disease. They also contain vitamins, minerals and fibre. The old saying “An apple a day keeps the doctor away” may be an exaggeration, but they are definitely part of a healthy diet.
These are just some of the Best Apple Baking Recipes I have collected over the years. I still make them all regularly and my family and friends love them. I hope you will too.
