I developed these recipes for Ribena Plus, a range of no added sugar fruit drinks and concentrates enriched with vitamins A, C and E or calcium. Smoothies are a healthy way to start the day or fill the ‘hungry gap’ between meals. It’s easy to keep the ingredients to make them on hand in the freezer. As soon as any bananas start to look a bit past their best, I peel them, chop them in slices and freeze them in single portions to use in baking and smoothies, so I always have some on hand. Frozen or canned fruit and berries can be kept in your freezer and store cupboard so you can whip these yummy smoothies up at a moment’s notice.

This deliciously tropical treat will have everyone reaching for a second glass!

Apple, Peach and Pineapple Smoothie

Serves 2 to 3 depending on age and appetite

One banana, peeled and chopped
Half a coffee mug of tinned pineapple chunks
Two fresh peaches or nectarines, peeled, pitted and chopped OR
four tinned peach halves
one small pot of vanilla or peach yogurt
about 6 to 8 fluid ounces of Ribena Plus Apple & Peach made up using concentrate or 6 to 8 ounces ready to drink

Put all the fruit and yogurt in a liquidiser or blender and blend until smooth. Gradually add the Ribena Plus, a bit at a time, continuing to blend until the desired consistency is reached. Pour into glasses and enjoy!

Recmmended age: 3+

A great morning pick me up the whole family will enjoy, packed full of fruit and goodness!
