A collection of easy, classic and traditional cookie recipes perfect for everyday baking.

Updated March 2026 – This post has been refreshed with new recipes, updated images and improved organisation to make it even easier to find your next favourite cookie.
I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love cookies – do you? I’ve shared a lot of cookie recipes in nearly 24 years of blogging (and I’ve got a lot more I still want to share) but these are My Best Cookie Recipes so far. There’s something for everyone in this collection, whether you like your cookies plain or lightly spiced, chocolate-y or fruity, nutty or not. My personal favourite? Well, that would be telling – but I do have a soft spot for anything with crinkles 😉
Classic and Easy Cookie Recipes You Will Love

Lemon Crinkle Cookies are light, refreshing and more than a little bit addictive. Don’t say I didn’t warn you!

These Lemon Sandwich Cookies – also known as Melting Moments in my family – are an extra special cookie that’s perfect for afternoon tea.

I have been making these Old Fashioned Chocolate Chip Cookies ever since I was a kid! This easy to make drop cookie recipe is a real family favourite.
Slice and Bake Cookies
I adore the convenience of slice and bake cookies. They are easy to make ahead and stash in the fridge or freezer, meaning that you are never more than 10 minutes away from a fresh, hot cookie.

Peanut Butter Cookies are a real favourite at our house but these Peanut Butter and Honey Cookies take things to a whole new level. If you like a good peanut butter and honey sandwich, you will love these!

Coconut adds a lovely texture and a bit of sweetness to these Oatmeal Coconut Cookies – fondly known in my family as Oatmeal Coconut Crispies.

Pistachio Slice and Bake Cookies have a delicate hint of rosewater, giving them a light and lovely flavour perfect for afternoon tea.

Slice and Bake Chocolate Chip Cookies are tender, delicious, and full of chocolate-y goodness. Easy to make ahead, they let you wow your friends with hot, fresh cookies at the drop of a hat.
More of My Best Cookie Recipes

No matter what the occasion, these old-fashioned roll and cut out Sugar Cookies are perfect to make seasonal or celebration cookies for decorating or eating plain.

Sometimes known as Forgotten Cookies, these Chocolate Chip and Pecan Meringues have a crispy, light golden outer shell that gives way to a soft, slightly chewy centre, full of crunchy pecans and chocolate chips. This is my late Mother-in-Law’s recipe, and it holds a special place in my heart.
Christmas Cookies

One of my most asked-for Christmas recipes, I actually make these Orange Gingerbread Crinkle Cookies all year round. They are one of the most popular cookie recipes on the website, and make a great gift from the kitchen too.

Cherry Christmas Cookies are another slice and bake classic – and the best part is you can make them ahead of time and stash them in the freezer ready for Christmas baking. I love how they look a bit like stained glass windows!
I hope these cookie recipes bring as much joy to your kitchen as they have to mine. They are easy to make, a pleasure to share, and perfect for so many occasions. Keep an eye out for more cookie recipes on the website coming soon!
