Have you ever wanted to learn how to make British Afternoon Tea? While most Brits no longer enjoy afternoon tea every day, sitting down for a treat of tea, sandwiches, scones and cake has remained a well-loved tradition here in England since the 19th century.
Enjoying an authentic British afternoon tea is challenging at the moment with most of our restaurants closed, and if you live abroad it’s nigh on impossible to visit just now. But what if I told you that you could make and enjoy an authentic homemade afternoon tea in your own home, including traditional tea sandwiches, flaky British scones, classic tea cake and other treats?
This class has now run and we have had some great feedback, so watch this space for news of more to come!
Feedback included:-
“I meant to message sooner to thank you both very much for your excellent Afternoon Tea Baking Class, but I have been very busy eating cakes and scones! Your class was great fun and thank you for your tips.”
and
“It was so much fun and everything tasted so delicious.”
How To Make British Afternoon Tea – A Live Online Class
Join me, April of AprilJHarris.com and my friend Jen Roach of Fearless in the Kitchen online on Zoom to learn how to make your own authentic British Afternoon Tea.
We will teach you how to make traditional tea sandwiches, the ultimate British scones (served with jam and cream of course), as well as a classic tea cake and light, buttery Melting Moments Cookies. A shopping list will be provided in advance so you can cook along with us in your own kitchen.
You can then enjoy afternoon tea after the class or save your treats for later in the day. Or take the class with far away friends or relatives and then have your own Zoom call later to enjoy your afternoon tea together.
You will also receive a printable recipe booklet so you have all the recipes to keep and make again.

This looks very fun!! I wonder, though– if I had the booklet with the recipes do I really need the class? I’ll think about it and see if my daughter wants to do it with me. : ) What a great idea!

Hi Liberty, Thank you 🙂 It really will be fun and we are hoping lots of families will join in! Taking the class will allow Jen and I to share all our inside hints and tips on making the recipes, beyond what is in the booklet. Also the booklet is only available to people who take the class. Hope to see you there!
